how healthy is jumping on the trampoline?

Q. I have a trampoline and I love love love to jump on it, im overweight and i have been drinking only water, cutting back on what i eat, and making healthier choices. along with me doing walking will the trampoline help me in anyway?? thanks!

Answer
It really depends on what you are doing while jumping on the trampoline. You can certainly get some great exercise out of it. Like doing splits jumps or jumping and landing on your rear and going back into normal position in the air. You can get more advanced too like flips, but that is dangerous. Anything that gets your heart rate up and makes you break a sweat is exercise.

I wouldn't solely use the trampoline as a source of exercise though. It would actually be a good ending exercise to loosen up your muscles.

Have you ever been on a trampoline and needed to fart?

curious du

So every time you landed back on the trampoline a little fart squeaked out?

Answer
Yes, this is natural with the G-Forces you experience while jumping. While they are not great, its enough to push things in the downward direction as you spring against the trampoline. Like the other person stated that they need to go without clothes on, while tragic things can happen. Just be prepared for it. Hopefully that person keeps a hose handy. Another option is to put your trampoline in the water or better yet buy one of those water trampolines like these:
http://stores.channeladvisor.com/Bargain-Sports/Store/Search.aspx?sck=9874906&Page=1&Sort=5&key=water%20trampoline
Then you can just jump in the water if needed to rinse off. Then splash a little on the trampoline to wash it off. If you put it in your pool, the chlorine would help with any disinfecting.

Robert H

ok i have been very close to death. when i have a baby i got rxv. which i think is fluid at the bottom of the lungs. and as it got worse later i got double amonya i think thats how its spelled. the doctors said i have a 20% chance to life. tehy also had a prist come and see me. and i think the power of god kept me alive. but it did damage my lungs very bad but now i am great and very thankful to be alive.
so if you have a great store to to tell about if you have ever been close to death and is still alive and well and maybe tell how it might be god that wanted you to live

Answer
Really, the only close-death experience I had was when I almost drowned as a kid.

...We were at a lake somewhere in Maine at my uncle's house and I was only around 7 or 8. My older cousin's Betsy and Lacey told us about their trampolie floating on the lake and told us it was fun to go under an things like that. I was excited and asked them to bring me under. (Because I was so young I still had to wear a life jacket in the lake and could't go under water with it on) They agreed and, with no effort at all, pulled me under. After a while they had to go in. My older brother was going to go under the trampoline, and I wanted to as well. Two older girls who lived next door to my cousin (I do not remember their names) told me they could pull me under. I thought for a moment and said "okay" They grabbed my hands and tried to pull me under but could only get down so far. When trying to pull me under the trampoline, they let go, leaving me trapped between the lake and the large float of the trampoline. I struggled for several long moments kicking and thrashing my arms and legs, but I couldn't get loose, and we were too far out for my parents to see. I tried to dive under, but my life jacket prevented me from doing that. That life jacket almost killed me. I finally got loose, bobbed to the surface and gasped for breath. I was so scared I began to cry.... It still scares me to be under water for too long, but I've mostly gotten over it.

What is there to do in Las Vegas for someone who's younger?

person.

There isn't much do in Vegas if you're younger. Does anyone have some good suggestions for things to do for younger people here?

Answer
ok you can go to circus circus the adventure dome, pretty fun in there with all those rides. the water amusement park(wet'n wild) is GONE, sad, but it was fun when i went there, there is indoor skydiving, there is a mini race car track i forget where, there are cool shows like Cirq De Soliel, Jubilee!, ect. you can go to lake mead and get some sun, go out to mount charleston and do some good old fashioned hiking. there is a place where the whole interior is trampolines and that's fun.

http://www.vegasindoorskydiving.com/ - skydiving
http://www.adventuredome.com/ - adventure dome circus circus
http://www.lvmgp.com/ - las vegas mini gran pri
http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/en/default.asp - cirq de soleil
http://lasvegas.skyzonesports.com/default.aspx- trampoline place, i know the last one is kinda geared towards younger kids but its actually a lot of fun for odler teens if you go with some friends and mess around...

hope this helps!

Problems with trampoline enclosure....?

just me

We have a 10' Bounce Pro trampoline with enclosure. We got it in January and my kids dad said "I'm going to really make this net tight so it looks good." Guess what happened? The first time my tiny 4 year old bounced into it it ripped. Not enough to fall through but a head size hole. Another one is starting near one of the other places where it ties to the pole and one of the ties has come away completely. I wanted to order another net and have it put on correctly (some slack) and finally found one. For ONE HUNDRED dollars! What? The entire set of trampoline and enclosure parts was $206 with TAX AND SHIPPING! Do you know where I can get a net cheaper than that? Also, those blue foam noodle things that are covering the poles - how necessary are they? One is ripping and water had stood inside it so now the pole is rusty. If I took them off and cleaned the pole with CLR really good would they rust again in the rain? I can't make the noodle things stay in place so that water won't get in.

Answer
Generally they are very expensive. I've actually never seen an enclosure for less than $200 - unless maybe someone has it on clearance.

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer and asking them about replacement parts? That's usually the best route and it pretty much guarentees you'll get the right enclosure for your specific trampoline.

I know it's alot of money but can you really put a price on your childs safety?

Does anyone have any tips on how to feed and cloth a large family? I have 9 children and I need advice!?

emmarose

We live on a tight budget. Can anyone who has a big family give me some of your tips about penny-pinching ideas. How can you afford clothing? What is your monthly food bill? Any advice is good advice for me! Thanks so much!

Answer
You can get school clothes for the kids to grow into after the season ends and they go on clearance sale.
Yard sales for summer clothes, play clothes, bicycles and things like that.
I grew up in a family of nine, we ate a lot of beans and beef stew, spaghetti, things we could make large amounts of that were healthy but economical. Chrismas our main gift was a group thing like a trampoline or something all could use then a little personal gift.
We shopped at costco or places we could buy all toiletries and food in bulk so it cost about half of the regular price grocery stores.
We went to day old bread stores for all the cookies and goodies for sack lunches and of course bread. We bought extra for the freezer to stalk up when they had a lot of the things we used.
We clipped coupons and once a month took all our glass cans and plastic to a recycling center and redeemed them for cash.
We did all our wash in cold water unless it was rank and used a clothesline to dry them.
I don't remeber the food budget but it wouldn't be relevent because I am middle aged now.

Outdoor epic summer water party with no pool ideazz?

Kaleigh

Summer party. No pool.VERY competitive kids coming.Games MUST involve getting wet or soaked.Water balloons good? need games that will be intense and will have people talking about the party the whole week.I have no pool but a trampoline and a volleyball net.
PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ HELP! I LOVE U IF U CAN HELP

Answer
Get your trampoline wet and jump aroud YOU JUMP SUPER HIGH . then u can play some volley ball i think you should rent a dunk tank from a web sight or a HUGE slippin slide those are super fun. Then got lots of water guns and games that involve wet from target or something. I have this thing where you put a water ballon in the ball ting pass it around then all of a sudden it pops and who ever has it gets splashed. Maybe with the Water guns you can get chairs and garbage cans and tjhings like that to hide behind then you can get water ballons and have a water gun and balloon war.

What is the most effective and cheapest way to keep leaves and acorns off my trampoline?

Alex McMul

I have a trampoline but I live in the woods and I always have to clean it. I've heard of trampoline covers but do they work? Could I use a tarp? Anything else I could do?

Answer
Someone already mentioned trampoline tarps--it's a great way to keep off any sort of debris.

For already existing stuff, any kind of broom or rake will do the job just fine. A hose with good water pressure might be a good idea too if birds decide to use your trampoline for target practice--if they haven't already. You could use soap to really get it out (and I hear the slipping and sliding around is a small part of the fun), but I've also heard too much soap can damage the mat over time.

Hope I was of help! :)

Water ski or water trampoline?!?!?

Janice Col

Im having a birthday party at a lake and it will be about 7 people. Which one do you think is better?!

Answer
Water skiing in my opinion would be better. You can do it all day and take turns. The water trampoline would be fun for the first 15 minutes or so but would quickly become boring. The water trampolines are also not as fun as they may seem, the water generally absorbs half of the bounce so you can't get very high. Its fun for wrestling with guys but that's about it!

Water trampolines?

How much does it cost to rent a water trampoline for a day or a week and who would you rent one from in Lake Chelan, WA?

Im not sure about water trampolines, but here are some places to start:

I Know It's Unhealthy, But I Need Some Help. . .?

Kitty Whit

Okay I want to know how long it wil take to lose 30 pounds by only eating about 600 calories a day. I'm gonna do 100 crunches, 25 push-ups, and an hour of high intensity trampoline. I drink about a liter of water and take a vitamin each day. How long will I take. I'm not bulimic or anorexic. Thanks for helping! :))) Kitty

Answer
your bod holds on to fat if you dont eat enough calories, fats, etc, so u wont lose anything but muscle try a 1200 to 1500 cal diet a day eat lots of veggies drink lots of water do at least and hour of modorate intensity cardio a day every day with 1 down day. increase the intensity every week or so. you could starve your self to death if u do ur plan. your body needs calories and fats in it so its able to burn it sound weird but it's true. its like you need electricity to make electricity u need calories to burn them just eat really healthy and work out

What is the safest way to land when falling from great heights?

Replica

Here's the scenario:

Imagine you're in a cargo plane, and that plane is flying about a thousand feet high up. You are in the cargo part of the plane, and that big door on the back of the plane accidentally opens. You fall into the sky immediately without a parachute. Nothing else from the cargo plane falls out, just you. There are no lakes, no soft long grass to catch you when you fall, anything. All there is underneath you is hard concrete (near the concrete is a phone booth where you could call 911, if you survive). There is no time for you to look for other places to land and hope to put your weight into its direction. You have to land onto the concrete...

So, in this type of scenario, what is the safest way to land? Will you even survive at all? I've seen a movie before that shows a guy jumping off from what looks like about 3 or 4 floors up, and lands on snow. He landed right on his feet, and the impact caused the bones from his leg to literally shoot out his skin. Considering the fact that you are falling from a thousand feet high up, you wouldn't want to do this. That much impact could absolutely break your legs and spine. I was thinking of landing on your butt (if you're a guy, you'd probably land on your balls, too so cheers to not having children), and I couldn't figure out anything wrong with this idea, other than possibly breaking your whole pelvis. So the thing is, you don't want to hurt your head, the front part of your upper body (because that's where most of your organs are), or your spine.
**You can't land on the phone booth. There's like 50% you'll miss, 25% you'll kind of hit it hard, but you'll still fall on the concrete, 20% you'll hit it completely, but you hit it with your head or spinal first, then 5% of actually surviving.**

If you absolutely can't survive that, how about falling somewhere softer? Like, grass, a car, a lake, as long as it's something you see out there everyday, and that doesn't include a big soft mattress or a bouncy trampoline.

Get creative but logical.

Answer
Alright well.

While falling out of a plane, you will accelerate very quickly, to survive you must slow down, to reduce impact.

1. open up arms and legs to increase surface area and friction.

2. Land on back.

While slowing down your inevitable death, you might wana take time to scream and glide around with your arms open.

If you were to survive. On a serious note. landing on soft water, in a vertical position. is good.
