Emily

im 11, so would i be better getting an 8 ft or a 10 ft? and also, where can i get the cheapest trampolines?? thanks :P

Answer
I would reccomend getting a 10 ft, just because it is larger and you would be able to do more on it. Sears has some pretty good cheap trampolines: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/s_10153_12605_Toys+%26+Games_Outdoor+Play_Trampolines+%26+Inflatables?filter=Type%7CTrampolines&viewItems=25&sid=ISx20070515x00001a&psid=36x310785

How do I teach my 5yr old autistic not to run away..he dsnt like us holding his hand and throws a huge tantrum

monik33

in public if we try....he has run away from his special ed classroom, and from the school building, in stores and restaurants he cant keep still. Discipline works in the house but not in public...Im tired of chasing him and Im always scared of losing him or something dangerous happening.

Answer
Have you tried a weighted vest or backpack? That might provide some feedback so that he doesn't want to run so much.

Many children with autism need a lot-i mean A LOT-of physical movement. You and his teachers might try to get a small trampoline, a child safe treadmill, an inflatable punching bag, anything that will let him work out his energies. You might request a consultation with a physical therapist or have a sensory integration assessment done.

Also, a lightweight halter strap such as this one...

http://www.4coolkids.com/default.html?src=OVTR&OVRAW=harness%20for%20children&OVKEY=child%20harness&OVMTC=standard

will help when you are out in public. You will need to practice with it lots at home so that he is used to it. There are many other styles to choose from.

Teach him to come back when you call. Think of how you would teach a cuddly puppy to come when you call. I know that your son is not a puppy, but the principal is the same. Let him get a few steps away (at home) and call him. When he comes, lots of hugs and kisses and praise and a small reward (such as 1 M&M or 1 sticker). Do this over and over. Let him get far away and call him.

When I taught preschool kids with autism and other disabilities, I used a whistle and a certain number of blasts. We'd line up. I'd yell "run away!â They'd all run. Then I'd blow 5 tweets and they'd all run back and get a reward. (Eventually they'd all run back.) Someone else might have to run alongside him and turn him back when the whistle blows so that he learns to associate that sound with finding the person with whistle and getting a good reward.

Also, I have heard that some kids with autism are being taught to stop and wait whenever they come to a stop sign. That might help.

As for running out of the classroom....they can use similar techniques. If I were you though, I'd ask them to tell you at what times of the day is he running out and what is going on at those times. They might need to add more interesting activities into the schedule to keep him occupied while he learns to come.

Good Luck!

What is the difference between a water trampoline and a water bouncer? 10 points for best answer!?

gymnast

I want to buy a water trampoline and was wondering the difference between a water trampoline and a water bouncer. I am a competitive gymnast and need a lot of bounce. My budget is tight. I do not want to spend over $400 dollars. Can you tell me which one is cheaper. Thanks for your help! it would be very helpful if you include links.

Answer
I swear I answered like 10 of these exact questions. A few by you. I don't get it. Why are you posting the same question over and over again? Anyway...

Q: What is the difference between a water trampoline and a water bouncer?

A: A water trampoline and a water bouncer have a few distinct differences. Water bouncers tend to be smaller, less expensive and also do not produce as high of jumps. This is because water bouncers have netting that is attached directly to the inflation tube whereas water trampolineâs netting is attached by springs to a frame which allows for higher bouncing and can support heavier weight loads.

Water trampolines and bounce platforms look very similar and indeed are similar. Both water trampolines and bounce platforms are have a bounce surface and both can be used for hours of fun. Attachments are offered for both water trampolines and bounce platforms. Attachments can include slides, logs and ladders. Water trampolines have a bounce surface supported by a steel frame and trampoline springs, bounce platforms have jump surface supported by a spring-less interlocking webbing connected from the floatation tube to the jump surface. Water trampolines can hold more weight and will have a higher jump compared to a bounce platform.

Bounce platforms are a great family recreational product and costs less then a water trampoline. It will support a good amount of weight and will provide a short bounce. Generally a bouncer will not require any assembly other then inflating and anchoring. A water trampoline requires assembling the framed jump surface. This will take about 30 minutes additional set-up time. Because of these differences water trampolines are generally higher priced then bounce platforms.

what is the best water trampoline?

Chris

my family is buying a house on a lake and i would like a trampoline for the water. i am a competitive gymnast and need at lot of jumping room for under $400 dollars. i know the cheapest trampolines are about 8 foot of jumping room but that is not enough room for me. i need at least 10 foot of jumping room if possible. i want this for my birthday. my dad is very hard to convince so i have to have as much reaserch as possible and need many links, thanks for your help.

Answer
Choosing a water trampoline or water bouncer for summer fun can be confusing as there are a lot of options out there. Choosing the perfect fit for you and your family is all about being informed on the different types of water trampolines, water bouncers and various accessories. This guide will help you find the right product for you and your needs.

Water Bouncers

Water bouncers are often mistaken for their more expensive counterpart, water trampolines. The jumping surface of a water bouncer is connected directly to the floatation part of the bouncer instead of being connected by springs thus giving it a smaller bounce. They are typically smaller than water trampolines making them easier to store and easier to set up because they require no assembly.

Connection

* Jumping surface is connected to the floatation tube, typically by interlocking nylon webbing.
* Jumping service of bouncers is NOT connected by springs.

Assembly

* Does not require assembly, only inflation.
* Inflate and anchor before enjoying.
* Anchor should be a simple D-ring anchor or any weight over 20 pounds should suffice.
* Anchor in over six feet of water to avoid injuries.

Pricing

* Bouncers usually range in size from 10 to 15 feet in diameter.
* Bouncers are generally less expensive than water trampolines and are typically under $1,000.

Water Trampolines

Inflatable water trampolines differ from water bouncers due to the fact that they can hold heavier weight loads and tend to allow to higher jumps. The added support and higher jumps are a result of the framed jump surface that is connected by springs to a frame, which is then connected to the inflation tube.

Connection

* Jumping surface of a water trampoline is connected to the frame by springs.
* Provides significantly greater weight support and higher jumping heights.

Assembly

* Some assembly required.
* Frame and jumping surface must be assembled and attached to the floatation tube once inflated.
* Anchor needs to be at least 60 pounds and should be anchored in a place without water currents.

Pricing

* It is easy to find water trampolines priced under $1,000 but they can be over $1,000 also.
* Can be as large as 25â² in diameter and as small as 11â² in diameter.
* Typically are more expensive than water bouncers.

Styles

* Rectangular trampolines are offered that range in sizes and can be up to 25 feet in length.
* Rectangular trampolines tend to be more expensive and hold tension better because of their shape.
* Circular trampolines tend to be less expensive and do not hold tension as well but they do have a sweet spot in the middle of the mat because of the tension distribution.

Safety

Safety is one of the main concerns of many people who purchase water trampolines. Children under 6 years old should not be allowed on water trampolines and children over 6 should be supervised by an adult. Life vests should be worn at all times while enjoying your water trampoline. Also, be sure to read all directions carefully and set up your water trampoline and accessories accordingly to ensure maximum safety and fun!

A Question About Diabetes, Please Help.?

Q. Hello...Im a 15 year old female. When i was younger i struggled a lot with my weight, i was usually only a few pounds overweight. Recently, well since November of last year i have taken it seriously, dieting and drinking water. i have a strict exercise regime, earlier in the year i would run a mile a day and now i trampoline non stop for a hour. i also have a gym membership, swim and take it very seriously. I Couldn't really lose weight and it didn't seem to be working that effectively, even though now im smaller then last year. But recently, i have been more tired, especially after eating. I have been irritable and moody with my fellow peers and have lost weight dramatically, going from size 14- to size 10 on the bottom. I have acanthosisnigricans on the back of my neck, thighs and underarms, and even though ive had them since the age of nine..ive only recently shown them to my mother, who seems quite worried. I Have recently had thrush and a Uti in the last week, and feel faint all the time and have been thirsty constantly. Can anyone shed light on this agonising situation? please?.

On the 29th i go back to school and i want to lose as much weight as possible
any help?
i dont really care if its healthy or not
as long as im not on the brink of death lol
ohh and P.S. i have no money to buy pills or drinks (lol im 13) and no access to a gym
what can i do at home

Answer
First you have to start eating right. When you are eating, eat slowly, because it takes a while for messages to get to the brain. If you eat too fast, you will still be hungry and you'll end up eating more than you should. It is also good to eat away from the tv or computer so you are not distracted.

Now, exercising. Do bridges, crunches, and yoga stretches everyday. Do not do sit ups because they make your butt big and muscled. The most essential exercise to do when trying to lose weight is cardio exercise such as running, swimming, aerobics, etc. Anything that gets you whole body involved and your heart pumping. You should do cardio for half an hour or more everyday. To make exercising fun, you can do butt bounces and jump on the trampoline, use a hula hoop, or jump with a jump rope.

Remember to drink lots and lots of water, and good luck.

2 year old motor skills?

christa v

where should a child be for motor skills at age 2?
what games should he be plating to keep interactive?

Answer
My (just turned) 2-year old daughter likes games where you combine singing with activity (like Ring around the Rosies) she is also into playing "catch" with medium sized balls (the lightweight ones about the size of a basketball) and jumping/hopping. She loves trampolines and those jumping on those giant inflatable things whenever she gets the chance. She just learned to really hop and she is a fast runner now. She still falls sometimes when doing things, especially if she is distracted by something, but overall, any playful activity is good with her. Just running around at the park floats her boat. Kids seem to know what is appropriate for their age and they do things when they are ready, some things ahead of schedule, some things take more practice for them and may take them longer to get used to.

1. Paint my room
2. Buy guy clothes and make them girl clothes/
3. Buy red shorts
4. Do a headstand at the beach.
5. Go to mall in clashing shorts and shirt, 2 different shoes, and glasses on, saying hi to everyone you pass.(i swear my friends hate me)
6. Paint nails neon color
7. Write a song
8. Dye hair

etc.... If I can do it, I will. :) It's like a promise I made to myself. :P
I can't really get a job... :( Theres only like 2 places that hire at 14. And they aren't hiring. So believe me, if I could get one, i would! lol
I actually will jump off a bridge... Theres a small bridge near my house that i can jump off... lmao

Best kind of water trampolines for a good price?

Kody S

I live on a channel on a fresh water lake and I would like to put a water trampoline out in the water. I don't need a huge one, but I still want a good sized one. It would be used by teenagers and rarely any kids and my oldest sons and their friends that are in their early 20's. So it has to be durable and it has to be able to hold teenagers and adults. I don't want one that only allows us to only have very little people on at one time. AND LIKE I SAID IT WOULD GET A LOT OF USE. So anyways, what is the best brand? What is the best kind? Whats the best one that will fit my needs? I don't want to spend a lot of money because I'm not up at the lake too much but when I am the trampoline would get a good beating. So keep the price as low as possible. Any ideas on water trampolines? Tell me a trampoline and the model that would fit my criteria or give me a link. Thanks and please answer.

Answer
if you're looking for a tramp because of the bouncing part, then forget it. the water dampens the bounce and they really aren't a lot of fun after about 10 minutes. We have a small one and every weekend at the lake I see no body... count em o.... use it. the people to use it are 9, 12, 13, 15 ,16 ,19, years old. they got bored really fast. look at the big tubes. they can be used to float around on + they are towable.

Electric pump for a water float?

superstine

i need a really fast, strong pump for a float.
i know most water rafts can blow up quite easily but this one is HUGE and would take hours by hand pump.
i need some type of industrial one that will blow up monster truck tires (slight exaggeration)

any ideas where i could maybe even rent one in Florida?

thanks for any advice!

Answer
u can usually get a pump made specially for blowing up tubes and jumpy water trampolines, and etc. at a local marina , but sometimes if u find a vacum cleaner (stay with me, it really works!) that has a reverse option and attach an adapter nozzle to the end of the tube that blows OUT and blow it up! a good vacum is the rigid wet vac hope i helped! (it sounded a little confusing, i no!

What is the best water trampoline? 10 points for best answer!?

gymnast

my family is buying a house on a lake and i have always dreamed of having a water trampoline. My birthday is in july and i was hoping to use this to my advantage. I am a competitive gymnast and i need the most jumping room for under $400. i would prefer a new one but i know that is hard with my price range. 8 feet of the actual trampoline part will not be enough for me. My dad is hard to convince he needs to have lots of research to even think of buying one. To maximize my chances of actually getting one i need to do a ton of research so he doesn't have to, so please add links. Thank you for your help!

Answer
The following is a list of many of the frequently asked questions about water trampolines.

Q: How do you inflate a water trampoline or bounce platform?

A: The most common method for inflation is using a shop vacuum as they have a high air flow rates. The shop vac should attach to the adapter that comes with most water trampolines, water bouncers and accessories. There are also pumps available for inflation of your water trampoline of choice. We do NOT recommend using an air compressor to inflate your water trampoline as over inflation can damage the tube.

Q: What type of warranty comes with water trampolines?

A: The warranty differs depending on which brand of water trampoline you choose. Most brands come with at least a one year warranty as long as the product has not been used for commercial purposes. We suggest you check with the bradnâs home webpage to find out the specific warranty.

Q: How much and how long does it take to ship a water trampoline?

A: Right now we are offering free shipping on all water trampolines. Shipping will take approximately 7-10 business days. For more information on this check out our shipping page located at the bottom of our homepage.

Q: Do all Rave products need to be anchored and if so how?

A: Water bouncers and water trampolines do need to be anchored. The smaller water bouncers should be anchored with a simple D-ring anchor or a weight over 20 pounds will suffice. Water trampolines require a weight of over 60 pounds and bell anchors are recommended. Additional information is provided in the ownerâs manual that is provided with your purchase.

Q: Should bouncers wear life vests?

A: Yes, safety is key in enjoying any water trampoline or water bouncer. No matter how deep the water is life vests should be worn at all times.

Q: Where is the form for the free attachment located on your site?

A: There is a link to the form for a free attachment located on the homepage of the website in the top right corner.

Q: Can water trampolines be left out in the water?

A: Most people leave water trampolines out for an entire season and take them out during the colder months. Two things to consider are local regulations about anchoring in your area and the wind speeds around your area. Water trampolines or other products should not be anchored in the water during wind speeds exceeding 15 miles per hour.

Q: Are water trampolines repairable or patchable?

A: Most product come with a repair kit and instructions on how to patch up holes. The kit contains adhesive and extra piece of fabric along with a comprehensive instruction manual. Other parts may need to be replaced in time such as springs or the jump surface.

Q: Can water trampolines be used on land?

A: Yes, but only on grassy even surfaces. it should not but used on gravel or rocks. A water trampoline will not have the bouncing abilities of a land trampoline because it is meant to be used in the water and the tube will absorb most of the energy.

Q: How deep should the water be when using a water trampoline?

A: A water trampoline or water bouncer should never be used in less than six feet of water in order to prevent any injuries.

Q: How long is total set up time?

A: Total set up time ranges depending on which product you purchase. Water bouncers require only inflation which typically takes a maximum of thirty minutes while water trampolines can take a bit longer because the assembly of the fame and jumping surface is required.

I have provided a link to a plethora of information on water-trampolines and bouncers.
