Planning a 10-Day trip, Caribbean or Kauai?

Rich

Going with my girlfriend for 10 days in May. Like the adventure of Hawaii but love the water/beaches of Caribbean (specifically Grand Cayman or Antigua) so looking for the perfect mixture of activity and relaxation.

Help! :)

Answer
I love the beaches of the Caribbean as well, especially those in the Dominican Republic! Have you and your girlfriend thought about vacationing there? One resort I think you would really enjoy is Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana. Dreams Palm Beach is an awesome all-inclusive resort located just a short distance away from the Punta Cana nightlife. The resort offers a ton of activities and guests rave about the ocean trampoline, beach volleyball and the circus show. Besides having a gorgeous beach, the resort also boasts three swimming pools. One of my favorite things at the resort was grabbing a drink at the swim up bar and taking a break for lunch at the Seaside Grill, which is right off the beach. I can honestly say that this resort will definitely create the perfect balance of relaxation and activity. I hope this helps. Good luck planning your trip!

What does this mean? dream!?

Hello Worl

I've been having these 2 dreams lately. Do you think they are connected somehow? And what do you think they mean? My first one is me at an Amusement Park and i'm playing at these water slides and stuff that don't exist in real life because there extreme like there's a thing where you jump on it and its like a trampoline and it sends you into the air. I always end up in this maze looking for these new people I met at the amusement park. I end up finding them and we have fun again. I enjoy this dream because it's very fun. I always get happy after one of these dreams.

2nd dream:
I'm at an ocean study building. They make me go into the water. I always remember the darkness of the water before I go in. It's dark. But when I go in everythings a nice bright blue. Like in those "visit Hawaii" commercials. I usually swim around and there's cute fishes everywhere. As I get deeper the water color gets darker and I see huge whales. Killer whales and such. I start getting scared. Once it gets really dark a great white chases after me and at the last second I get saved.

I suffer from depression, if that changes things :b thanks for any help.

Answer
The ocean represents your emotions, the deeper you go in the darker the water right? It means your treading through the hidden aspects of yourself and trying to gain a hold of your emotions.

The water/park most likely represents some situation that you feel fearful of yet is probably in your best interest pursue.

HAWAII :: Kihei, Maui - - whats to do here? Renting a condo for August?

Heyya

I am traveling here for vacation in mid august, was wondering if anyone can give some feedback as to whats there to do there, beaches to visit, is it a nice city? Thanks!

Answer
Hi, We just stayed in Kihei the middle of June, Kihei is right along the beach, you can see Lanai from the beach. Everything you need is probably within walking distance, and alot of people ride bikes. However to see the sights you will want to drive to Lahaina, it used to be the Capital city of the islands until it moved to Honolulu, it has quite a bit to do, we went on the Sugar Cane train, we have kids. Right in Wailuku there is a fun park with bumper boat, mini golf a rock climbing area, and the trampoline with the bungee cords. Kahului is the largest city on Maui, it has a mall, and lots of shopping, Walmart etc. It is also where the main airport is. The road to Hana has great waterfalls, and you can see some of the more rural areas. Haleakala is a spectacular sight at sunset or sunrise. You have to plan and leave well ahead of time as it takes hours to drive up or down. There is para sailing, and water activities everywhere. There are submarine type rides, Sunset dinner cruises, drinking cruises, I could go on all day, you should really have a good time, and I think Kihei was a great choice!

Really good 13th birhtday party ideas...?

Godsmyway1

ok i am turning thierteen in april..but i need party ideas...please please heklps..i want to invite the whole 7th grade which is 25 people...my house has a pool trampoline tennis/basketball court..and i live ont eh buig island of hawaii...so please please please help!!! omg thanks

Answer
Have it at home. That's what I did. I invited lots of people to my flat when I celebrated my 13th birthday in April this year. Here 10 things that I've done in the past for my birthday parties, and they've all been at home:

01. HAVE A SLEEPOVER: I had one and it was so fun. I had people stay overnight and we played brandy in the dark with a glow-in-the-dark ball. So cool (I accidentally hit my friend in the nuts so be careful). And if you do follow my suggestion, make sure your parents don't wake up!

02. PLAY SODA SHAKE: Soda shake is the funnest game ever! If you don't know what it is, Soda Shake is where all of your friends gather in a circle and you get a bottle of any soft drink (preferrably the smallest soda you can get because you don't want to waste) and you each take turns going around the circle, shaking the bottle until it explodes. Whoever it explodes on is out for the next round. I played it and it was so cool!

03. PLAY WITH WATER BALOONS: there are so many things you can do. Some of my recent ideas are to play rugby with them (make sure it's on grass otherwise it hurts if you fall over), play catch, play volleyball or play brandy with water balloons. They're so much fun!

04. PLAY THE GAME WITH THE LONG NAME: also known as Truth-Dare-Double Dare-Love-Kiss-Physical Torture-Lick-Put Down Pants-Say in a minute-Bang Head Against-Triple Dare-Hump-Psychological Torture or Pash. You may also just refer to it as "Truth or Dare" or "Truth, dare, double dare, love, kiss or torture". If you don't know what these are, you probably just climbed out from under a rock and are probably celebrating your 4th birthday rather than your 14th.

05. WATCH A MOVIE: particularly a comedy. Best done if you do number 01 on this list. Preferably at night. I've done that in all of my sleepovers. I made it a tradition. Make sure you choose a good movie, though.

06. GO FOR A SWIM: even if it's winter! Actually it's more fun that way. I did that when I had my birthday party and we played Suicidal Volleyball. It's called that because you have to jump around and stuff. You can do anything you like, but just keep in mind about other reasons why it's called Suicidal Volleyball...

07. PLAY WATER PISTOL TIGGY: Water pistol tiggy is the best. It's basically like tiggy except you have two teams, each with a captain. When you squirt someone with the water pistol then they're on your team. Once you squirt all the members of the other team or squirt the other team's captain then your team wins and you start again.

08. PLAY BRANDY: of course! It's painful for sure, but nothing's better than to do that at a party! Brandy is also known as British Bulldog or Ball Tiggy. Just make sure you don't invite any wussy guests because I did that this year and while we played Brandy he went inside and hung out with my sister (party pooper)

09. PLAY THE BALL BOUNCE GAME: Since you have a trampoline, it would be easy. Just grab a soccer ball and two people are bouncing on the trampoline. Everybody else tries to hit the people on the trampoline with the ball to get on. It just keeps going.

10. PLAY PAINTBALL: Oooooooh. Sweet Paintball. Don't you just love that sound of people getting SPLAT! Make sure you wear protective gear though. And play it outside, otherwise that's fully suicidal. Better done if you have a big spacial backyard.

Just in case you want to know some ideas for the older years, Last year, I did all of the ones on this list exccept for number 10 on the list for my 13th birthday.

Hope those ten ideas help. At home is a good idea. It's less expensive. And you can still have fun. I mean, look at all these ideas, and that's not ALL I've done!

Fun activities for Summer Party Only teens answer!?

Ruby

I am having a big pool party and a lot of people are coming for 4 hours so I want some ideas on how to keep people entertained. No indoor activities please!
13 and 14 year olds! What would you want to do? Or is a pool, trampoline and zip line enough for entertainment? Pleaseeee answer 10 POINTS

Answer
I love you Idea of a trampoline and zip line! You can get tons of pool things like pool chairs, lounges, noodles, balls. etc.
For the guys they can watch also the World Cup Soccer!

I found some cool ideas on this site:

http://www.celebrations.com/summerparties

http://shindigzparty.wordpress.com/category/luau-party/

You need to have a theme!! Tropical Luau or Hawaii maybe? If its all girls then do a girly theme, like tropical islands, shopping, make up, just make sure theres something for every type of person there to do!
Do you have a local Dean & Deluca cafe? Have them cater with lunch and cookies! Idea's are having tons of funny looking rubber ducks in the pool, mini parasols in drinks, and maybe some lights under-water. or one of those floating fountains, but those might be expensive and hard to set up.
For invitations you can buy little plastic "message-in-a-bottle" type bottles, pour some sand in, write your invitations make it into a scroll and your good to go! Or you can save money and send an e-vite.
If I were at the party I would want there to be like little contest(s), swimming, food, games, trampoline, zipline, T.V. and music!
Make sure your music is appropriate, you don't want to get in trouble! For dessert you can buy a cookie cake. Before you serve the guests food, know their allergies!!! Have some extra towels and googles. Just make sure you get them all before they leave! Try some beach-themed supplies
like http://www.target.com/Bahama-Breeze-Party-Plus-Guests/dp/B0013KT930/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&searchView=grid5&qid=1277161855&frombrowse=0&fromGsearch=true&node=1038576%7C1287991011&keywords=beach%20plates&searchSize=30&id=Bahama%20Breeze%20Party%20Plus%20Guests&searchBinNameList=purchasing_channel%2Csubjectbin%2Cprice%2Ctarget_com_primary_color-bin%2Ctarget_com_size-bin%2Ctarget_com_brand-bin&searchNodeID=1038576%7C1287991011&searchRank=target104545&sr=1-18&searchPage=1&rh=

http://www.target.com/IP304-Island-Luau-Party-Pack/dp/B00319BD12/ref=sc_qi_detaillink

For cute little contests you can attach strings through small powdered doughnuts (about 4 or 5)and tie them to a long stick (not the kind in a forest!) Have people do a limbo and try to catch and eat the doughnuts! It's lots of laughs! Snow cones make good pool snacks. You can even pick up some things at Party-City. A cooler for water and soda's would be nice too.
A beach ball. What could be more classic?
Some nice cabana towels http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=113055

Play some soda-pong. My safe version of beer pong, please, do not use beer, of course. Use soda's, here's a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oIZ9bZoi3c Oh! And when you have drinks next to the pool do NOT have glass near the pool!!!! It will be super-hard to clean and some one will bleed, a lot! Please, use clear plastic cups!
How about a nice disposable water-proof camera? Get them at drug stores or places like Target or Amazon. I found some adorable zebra print balloons, even tho it doesnt match the theme, prints like this look good next to pools. http://www.target.com/11ZE-Zebra-Print-Balloons/dp/B001E4V5IW/ref=sc_qi_detaillink
And I found the perfect set pool supplies! Its great! http://www.target.com/Pool-Party-Pack/dp/B0001HKC5U/sr=1-13/qid=1249928237/ref=sr_1_13/188-8243016-2770036?ie=UTF8&search-alias=tgt-index&frombrowse=0&pricerange=&index=target&field-browse=1038576&rh=k:pool&page=2

If you want to get wild try spin the bottle :3 and then you guys and dance to music!! Try hooking up some big speakers to computer. You can have people make suggestions for what they want to hear, just type it in on youtube.

Upgrade and refresh your poolside area. http://www.bhg.com/home-improvement/outdoor/pools-spas/pools-spas-pavilions/
Have extra sunscreen, too.

Here are some nice outdoor entertaining tips: http://www.bhg.com/recipes/food-slide-shows/entertaining/outdoor-entertaining/?page=1

Lighting: Hang lanterns and garlands around. For fresh ideas go to your local Target, Walmart, or Party City to pick up a few things you know you and your friends would enjoy.

Hope I helped! contact me if you need more ideas/advice. sk_penguin565@yahoo.com

A question aboutAutism or Sensory Problems?

water trampoline hawaii on ... Sports 02008 Bongo 13' Inflatable Water Bouncer Trampoline w/ Warranty
water trampoline hawaii image

autismh

I got custody of my son not to long ago. He has been evaluated and said to need speech therapy. His behavior seems destructive to me but I don't know if it is a result of autism or sensory problems. He does things like laugh a lot to himself, jump around, throws very important objects in water that has cost me a lot of money. If any one has any info on this or if sounds familiar please leave a reply. Thanks in advance.
His age is 3.

Answer
Your son's sensory problems would be best addressed by an OT (occupational therapist) who is trained in sensory integration, and familiar with autistic spectrum disorders. Autism and sensory problems overlap. You can have either but most that are autistic spectrum have sensory issues to some degree. I can tell you that once you begin OT, your child will make dramatic improvements within a few short weeks. Also behaviors peak between ages 2-3, so it will improve no matter what.

It does sound like your boy is very happy and doesn't have emotional issues. This is such a strength. My nearly 3 year old has wreaked havoc on our home, and his PDD.NOS older brother did not rip the house apart. This is somewhat of a phase, these spectrum kids are much easier to deal with once they hit 5. I have a large network of friends with autistic kids and they all seem to really improve at 5. We don't really go on vacation but I have friends who have taken autistic kids on planes to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Disney World and I just couldn't imagine doing this at my middle son's age. He just wouldn't be containable.

Childproof the best you can. We have locks on all our kitchen cabinets, that had to be drilled in, locks on bedrooms, babygates, water turned off in the bathroom sinks, Safety grips on the doors, chain locks, keylocks for a fire safe where we keep medications, we have a locked toolbox in the deadbolted locked garage where we keep detergent, windex, and any other chemicals. Its ridiculous, but necessary for now.

We did invest in a trampoline, which helps alot. Ours is 8 ft. enclosed and is only 18 inches off the ground. It came with a safety net. We also have other sensory things like a sit and spin, an indoor net swing, play doh, theraputty, indoor ball pit that has 350 balls and 100 bean bag weights, weighted blanket, medicine balls. Look into getting a free catalog from abilitations, and super duper. They are very informative.

Especially look at the sensory stuff, weigh me down, tie me up things. Your son is seeking deep pressure with the jumping. It causes joint compressions. He would really like the ball pit, trampoline, and playdoh.
