If you built your own theme park; what would be in it?

Bender

I'd have blackjack & hookers.

Answer
yours sounds like The Strip here in Las Vegas. lol.

I imagine my theme park would have lots of different stuff to do...it'll be like a "Big Kids" Discovery Zone where adults can play, with obstacle courses, blow up obstacle courses, trampolines, water slides from a house window into a pool, a big wave pool with real sand...hmm...boxing rings...kicking & punching bags...rings where you can put on those big sumo wrestler costumes that make you look really fat, short, and stubby. haha. Also those human balls...where you can go inside and roll yourself down a hill or something. OOOH! And those bench thingys that they have at fairs or carnivals, where you just sit on a bench for 2 or 3 people and kind of like a lift, at a skiing/snowboarding resort, but mine will go through out the whole park. hahhahaha. YAH! and a water area that has a wave thing...so you can "surf". There will also be streams with gondolas or boats that you can ride through out the park.

It'll have a "Hawai'i theme"...lots of green. Lots of plants from Hawai'i...and a few waterfalls, and cliffs to go cliff jumping. haha. Rockclimbing walls...it'll have one part that looks like the old Nick game show, GUTS and Legends of the Hidden Temple. And anything that's FUN!

That would be sooooo AWESOME!!!! =))))

How can I drink 32 cups of water a day?

liz

I'm trying a new diet where you actually drink 32 cups of water the first day, and this is actually 4 times what I usually drink. How can I do this? Thanks!

Answer
Get a 64 oz. container, fill it with water and add a little apple juice for flavor.
Drink an 8 oz. glass every hour for 8 hours.

Hereâs a good low-carb food/exercise plan:

Breakfast: Cook 9-grain cereal (from health food store) in water with rolled oats and wheat bran. Make a pot of it on weekends and nuke 1/2 cup each morning. Then stir in low fat milk or yogurt, banana, walnuts and berries. Drink hot Ovaltine. Breakfast should be your largest meal of the day to raise blood sugar level which falls during the night.

Lunch: Egg, tuna or turkey ½ sandwich on multi-grain (not just whole wheat) bread with bean or alfalfa sprouts, yogurt, fresh fruit. If you had meat loaf for dinner, bring a meat loaf sandwich on whole grain bread (NO mayo). On cold days, a squatty thermos of hot chili, split peas with ham, or beef stew.

Snacks: Fresh (not canned) fruit. Nothing ever from a vending machine.
Fruit smoothies.

Dinner: salad with white meat chicken and fresh (not canned) veggies: tomatoes, 2 kinds of lettuce, 2 kinds of shredded cabbage, shredded or sliced carrots, alfalfa or bean sprouts, zucchini, green or red peppers, hard boiled eggs, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, tofu, cottage cheese, spinach...Instead of dressing, squeeze 1/4 tomato over it.

Or homemade bean/vegetable soups; great way to recycle leftovers.
Or grilled fish with steamed veggies.

Or omelet: In blender, whip together eggs, tofu, cottage cheese, onions, garlic powder. Cook with mushrooms, chopped tomatoes and green or red peppers.

Avoid junk food, fast foods, pastries, desserts, anything with sugar (cancer cells feed on sugar), gluten, syrup (even canned fruit in syrup), peanut butter, fat/grease (pork, wieners, chops, bacon, salami, pizza, chips, fries), pasta, potatoes, ramen, popcorn, white bread, rice, canned veggies, ice cream (itâs lard + chemicals), soda (loaded with toxins), chips, tobacco, alcohol (kills brain cells) and coffee (carcinogenic). No oil except olive and mac nut.

To keep your skin clear, drink water, tea, unsweetened veggie and fruit juice.

Join a gym; they have all the equipment and staff to show you how to use it to get the look you want to achieve, but you have to ask them. Much cheaper than buying your own equipment. Go hiking, biking, jogging, bowling, swimming, rowing, jump rope, play tennis, badminton, volleyball, soccer, jumping jacks, lift weights, trampoline? To tone your tummy, do sit ups, push ups, pull ups, leg lifts, butt raises and crunches.

For more energy, take Super B complex.

trampolines? big enough?

justin

Hey, im a freestyle skier. so im going to be trying like rodeo 540s, and cork 900s, and stuff like that. will a 14 ft trampoline be big enough?

Answer
Well to begin with you'd do better to just delete this question and ask it in another category. Water sports is not the best place to ask a question about free style snow skiing practice.

Now to your question. If you can only afford or fit a 14 ft tramp then you'll just have to go with it. If you can get a larger one go for it. Once you get the trampoline if you find that it seems too small just go with shorter skis when you start trying your stunts. Even if you just cut the tips off some old skis. It's a lot cheaper than increasing the diameter of the trampoline. Once you have the stunt down you'll find it easier to do with the larger skis on the smaller tramp due to muscle memory.

Good luck with your search..

Answer
1. I would have some music playing in the background if your guests all like different types make a random CD.

2. Just mingle with the guest everyone will probably just have fun talking and jumping on the trampoline.

3. I don't know what the weather is like in Ireland at the moment as I am from just over the border and its sunny here so if its the same where you are why not have a water fight!

4. Get a game of twister out you can never be to old or young for twister :)

Hope that helps and happy birthday! :)

What Should be Attention When Start Your Inflatable slides Business

Answer
Bouncy castle and similar structures are temporary inflatable buildings and structures that are rented for functions, school and church festivals and village fetes and used for recreational purposes, mainly used by children. The growth in popularity of moonwalks has led to an inflatable rental industry which includes inflatable slides, obstacle courses, games, and more. Inflatables are ideal for portable amusements because they are easy to transport and store. The name given to such structures varies.

They have been marketed with such names as bounce house, Moon Bounce, Astrojump, Moonwalk, Jolly Jump and Spacewalk. The term "Bounce House" came to popularity with the resurgence of hipster culture in New England. "Pula pula" is another name commonly used by Latinos, which literally means "jump jump". The term 'Jolly Jumps' is often used to describe the inflatable playground structure in rural areas and some areas in the Western US, but the term is otherwise obsolete.

Although they are often aimed at children, adult castles can be hired in the many countries, like UK,US,China,Europe and so on. Because of liability concerns, moonwalks are rarely rented to adults in the US. Historically, names for inflatable structures, particularly in the United States, are composed of two, one syllable words. In the United States the terms that consist of two, one syllable words are popular. In Southern California, another popular term is Closed Inflatable Trampolines, or "CITs". Bouncy Castle or Inflatable Castle are used in Ireland, the UK, New Zealand and parts of Australia, and Jumping Castles in Arizona, Australia, Canada and South Africa.

As a whole the term moon bounce has become a generic term for enclosed inflatable trampolines worldwide. Following the popular of inflatables, more and more countries start a rental business, and the kinds of inflatables more and more day by day. Except bouncy castle, also water slide, inflatable tent, giant inflatables, bounce house for children. Many buyer found that usually people are willing buy one or two pieces of bouncy castle or water slide for their children. So not only to rental inflatble, some big imported especial import some small size family using inflatables.

Actually that brings big profit to importer, becuase inflatable field is few in their country and the cose is very expensive in Europe and America,Australia. Also some advertising company will order the big inflatable tent for sport, like tennis, basketball, football, badmin and so on. In winter many countries will snow, it will effect outdoor sports, but many youngers like outdoor sport in winter. Based on this, some smart merchant found that and place order about tent. One of my clients even order an big size of 30*60*15m for 600 people. At present his business is very good.

8ft or 10ft trampoline?

Emily

im 11, so would i be better getting an 8 ft or a 10 ft? and also, where can i get the cheapest trampolines?? thanks :P

Answer
I would reccomend getting a 10 ft, just because it is larger and you would be able to do more on it. Sears has some pretty good cheap trampolines: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/s_10153_12605_Toys+%26+Games_Outdoor+Play_Trampolines+%26+Inflatables?filter=Type%7CTrampolines&viewItems=25&sid=ISx20070515x00001a&psid=36x310785

Trampoline Buying Help?

ns07

i'm looking to buy a trampoline, actually maybe tomorrow !
i've really wanted one for a long time , i'm turning 15 this summer but my dad thinks i'm too old ! usually i just want it for excercise, to play on & do tricks.
I saw one at Walmart for 250 & its a 12' one. Is that too small? I heard the best is a 14'
the amount of people varies, usually just me, maybe my brother too, but when i have company over it mite go up to 2-4 people. I wanted to get a Springfree but my dad won't let me! :( I was opting to go for craigslist but isn't that dangerous? i mean what if its damaged that would be a higher injury risk

this is the 1 i want to buy, is it good?

I need help dieting any tips?

I am literally so overweight I feel low I'm 20, and weigh 19 stone at 5"9 I'm unhealthy & I know it!! Everytime I try & diet things crop up and I give up!!

I really want it this time, I'm sick of looking in shop mirrors and seeing a blob.
My clothes don't fit and I can't shop in normal places, I want to get down to a size 14-16 instead of a 24-26.

Anyone with help please thanks x

Answer
You're 266 pounds? That's a lot to lose, but you can do it. At the standard rate of 10 pounds/mo., it will take about (depending on your height) 13 months. If your insurance would cover it, I recommend gastric bypass which shrinks your stomach way down.

If not, Hereâs a good low-carb food/exercise plan:

Breakfast: Cook 9-grain cereal (from health food store) in water with rolled oats and wheat bran. Make a pot of it on weekends and nuke 1/2 cup each morning. Does anyone have any good ideas for a 16 birthday party?

Answer
Here are some ideas for you to work with

â¢Highlighter/Blacklight Partyâ¢Glow Party
â¢Pretty in Pink
â¢Under the Stars
â¢Mardis Gras
â¢Dress to Impress
â¢Slumber Sweet Sixteen
â¢Glamour Sweet Sixteen Party
â¢Diamonds and Denim
â¢Masquerade the Night Away
â¢Red Carpet Sweet Sixteen
â¢Hollywood Sweet Sixteen Party
â¢Chocolate Party
â¢Sugary Sweet Sixteen
â¢Luau Sweet Sixteen
â¢Fairytale Sweet Sixteen
â¢Jocks and Cheerleader Sweet Sixteen Party
â¢Party LIke a Rockstar

Dance Party: This is by far the most popular party theme. It's the most popular for a reason, if you find the right entertainment it can be the most fun of all the different party types. Think about your school dances, many schools only have two per year of which you may only be allowed to attend one! But everywhere you look you see other people having dances on TV or in movies. Dances allow you to throw your own party just like an adult where you can have a blast with all of your closest friends. If you find a DJ who specializes in sweet sixteen's with lights, games and contests you (or your parents) don't have to worry about anything except showing up, picking out the right music and having a blast with all of your friends! The right DJ should make sure everyone is involved and keep the party going all night.

2.Rock Band, DDR or Guitar Hero Theme Party: Why not take the games you play with your friends to the next level? Setup a screen, rent some lighting and speakers and have a real rock championship to determine the best Rock Band, Guitar Hero, or DDR players. Setting up a tournament with brackets and themed prizes can make your sweet sixteen party a blast!

3.Outdoor Movie Party: Having your party outdoors can be awesome for you and your friends to take in the great summer weather and watch a movie together. You can rent all the equipment you need to have a massive screen in your backyard or by the pool so you can all watch a movie together or make a movie night out of it. Having games and party favors within the theme can help turn it into an awesome party.

4.Pool Party: Pools are a great way for your friends to relax and hang out in the pool. Hiring a DJ to keep the music going and to incorporate the pool into the evening with contests and games can be a really great party during the summer. You can setup a giant inflatable movie screen next to the pool to show the movies on, or have a volleyball net or basketball hoop if you don't already have one for the pool.

5.Roller Skating/Ice Skating Party: Having an activity to focus on throughout the night is important if you don't like being the center of attention the whole night. It makes it easy for everyone to have a great time from your really outgoing guests, to friends who need a little help getting into the party. Having a roller or ice skating party can be a great theme option. Many rinks have a lot of creative ways to enhance your party. Having a local band or a DJ can also be a great way to kick up a party to the next level.

6.Lake Party: If you have a lake or campground near you, these parties can be the most memorable parties and weekends of your life. Most larger lakes have boats or pontoon boats that you can rent, or you can rent jet skis to have a blast with all your friends for your birthday party! Some lakes you can even combine pontoon boats with a dance party if the lake is big enough! You can also look into water trampolines, these can help turn your sweet sixteen party into the party of the year!

7.Scavenger Hunt: Having all of your friends show up ahead of time and surprising the birthday person with a party and then going out on a scavenger hunt can be an awesome party idea! It gives everyone something to do as well as adding competition into the night. Theme each stop after something that the birthday person likes or reminds you of them. You can do photo or video hunts or hunt for physical objects around town. Have the final location be a secret until you have found all the clues, then everyone can meet up at the final location to really celebrate your party with everyone together!

im turning 14 this year but i want a ORIGINAL party idea!!!?

How do you mow a lawn with a trampoline?

Kitkat

Ok so my dad might get me a trampoline for my birthday, but he is worried about our yard. Is there a way to mow under the trampoline without moving it? He always wants our yard to look good, and a lot of the things I've read about say you can just move it every time you mow the yard. How heavy is it to move? Any ideas that would be easy to do WITHOUT moving it?

Answer
Mow the lawn up to the trampoline then pull it onto the part already mowed and mow the rest of the lawn they slide easy and site the trampoline in different section of the lawn and will not have any bare spots but water and rain will get through just less light so better to move around different spot each time..very easy to slide to new spot each time..

water trampolines at Shaver Lake?

Christy

I looked it up and I found out they have some to rent. But I was wondering if they are only for kids...it said kids next to it and then a price of 10$ anyone know if adults can rent them to and is it more money for an adult to rent and use? I'm 21 but I have always wanted one as a kid and thought it would be so fun to jump on so to find out they have them here at shaver is so cool! :)

Answer
The only water trampolines I've ever seen were made big enough for adults. The price sounds reasonable, and I'd say just go for it. I'm actually guessing that the real price will be $10 for five or ten minutes, but if you really want to try it, go for it, it's cheap enough to get it out of your system...

Hope you have a great time on the water trampolines..

first i know light have no mass or weight.and i read that when a light goes in black hole it dont come for gravity so i knewed that a light ray have no mass or weight and if something dont have mass or weight it dont have any effect in gravity so light dont have a gravity effect because it is a power so my question is why all the other says when the light goes in black hole it gets sucked or traped by its gravity power.but why.it shouldent be happening am i right?
and what is a blackhole and a wormhole?(please say it in easy english cause iam only 14)
and do u think that if a planet have oxyzen and water can there be a life?
what is more faster than light?
well we know oxyzen is needed for fire to be burn do u think there is oxyzen in sun if no how can it be burning?
if you like my questions you can give me a star.
and take care.

Answer
>first i know light have no mass or weight.

That isn't exactly correct. Light has no REST mass, true. However, special relativity dictates that things gain mass as they move at higher speeds, and light particles (photons) do effectively have mass because they are moving. No, it doesn't make much sense, but most of quantum mechanics is like that; scientists are still busy working out exactly how these things work. At any rate, the fact remains that light does have mass for all practical purposes. You can read more about this here:
http://math.ucr.edu/home/baez/physics/Relativity/SR/light_mass.html
http://musr.physics.ubc.ca/~jess/p200/emc2/node11.html

>and what is a blackhole and a wormhole?

A black hole is an object which has so much gravity that light cannot escape from it. Such objects are formed in the explosions of giant stars, where the pressure and density reach the point where this kind of collapse can happen. A 'true black hole' is a gravitational singularity in space, a place where there is an infinitesimally (in other words, infinitely small) point with infinite gravity (although this gravity is finite for every finite distance outside the black hole). These 'true black holes' do not yet exist in our universe, because they require infinite time in order to complete their collapse. You can read more about them here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_hole

Wormholes, on the other hand, are unlike black holes in that there is not yet any scientific evidence that they exist. They are areas where space has been warped into itself, forming a loop from one place to another. Einstein's general relativity theory presented the space of our universe as a flat sheet something like a trampoline, where gravity forms dents in the sheet just as a person standing on a trampoline forms a depression where they are standing. The deeper the depression an object makes, the more gravity the object has; black holes as we observe them must have a depression in space of at least a certain depth, and true black holes have a depression infinitely deep. Wormholes, on the other hand, are what you have if you get two depressions, push them towards each other, and attach the ends together into a sort of doughnut. Here is a graphical representation of a wormhole:
http://media.radiosai.org/Journals/Vol_05/01MAY07/images/FeatureArticles/SFI/worm-hole.jpg
The fourth one in the list is a standard representation of a wormhole, while the second and third are other ways of showing a wormhole, and the first image is a representation of a black hole. You can read more about wormholes here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wormhole

>and do u think that if a planet have oxyzen and water can there be a life?

Yes. In fact, molecular oxygen may not even be necessary. It is likely that life on Earth began in an environment with very little molecular oxygen, and the vast amoutns of it we have now only exist due to photosynthesis (which is a process conducted by living things). It is highly likely that other planets exist in the Universe where life, using water and oxygen as well as carbon, has evolved separately from life on Earth. You can read more about extraterrestrial life and the theories involved here:

>what is more faster than light?

Superluminal (faster than light) travel refers to, well, moving faster than the speed of light. Einstein's special relativity theory states that it is not possible for us to go faster than light (or, at the very least, that it would require infinite energy, which is the same thing for all practical purposes). Like wormholes, faster than light travel is currently only a science fiction device; scientists don't know of any real principles that could allow it to be done artificially in any way. Superluminal travel is a common solution used in science fiction to bypass certain limitations on actual space travel. For example, under known physics there is no way for a spaceship to travel from the Earth to Proxima Centauri (the closest start to Earth that isn't the sun) in less than about four and a half years according to the time that passes on Earth. Similarly, if we sent a signal to someone at Proxima Centauri, it would take us no less than nine years to receive a reply. This is a rather depressing timeframe, so in order to make their universes a little faster and more exciting, science fiction writers often resort to various 'hyperspace drives' or 'translight drives' to move things faster than light. You can read more about it here:

>well we know oxyzen is needed for fire to be burn do u think there is oxyzen in sun if no how can it be burning?

The Sun is not burning in the same sense that a fire burns. Fires on Earth are chemical reactions, which continue because certain molecules are fusing with oxygen to release energy. Even back in the 1800s, it was already determined that the Sun could not be a standard chemical reaction, as it should have gone out after only a few thousand years (it has been going for about four and a half BILLION years in the real world). Instead, the Sun is using a different kind of reaction, nuclear fusion. This is a process in which hydrogen atoms are fused with each other to form helium atoms, which releases a vast amount of energy, much more than the same hydrogen atoms could do by reacting with oxygen. Now, as a matter of fact there IS some amount of oxygen in the Sun, however the reason it shines is only because it has a fusion reaction going. This fusion is basically the same thing which is used in advanced nuclear weapons, and within another few decades it is likely that we will develop ways of keeping fusion reactions going inside laboratories in order to generate electrical power. You can read more about this here:

Has Anyone Been To STARFISH Resort, Trelawny?

sleepingaw

I am planning a trip to the Starfish Resort in Trelawny Beach in Jamaica next year (2008) for my son (who will be 8) and I, and I was just doing my homework...has anyone heard of this place or been there? What was your experience like? I picked them cause they are kid-friendly. Thanks! :o)

Answer
I have been to Starfish and it is very kid friendly. There are various actvties such as conoeing and windsailing. They have something like a club and on different nights the club is open to kids and sometimes there is an adult club night. They have a waterslide(awesome!), 4 jacuzzis, and like 5 pools and of course a beach with a trampoline in the water. People were flipping off it.. Their food is the boss. They have restaurants that u can go to. They have dancers that entertain in the night and a whole lot of activities in the day.. When I went it was Carnival time and they made up a little Carnival competition dance thing which was fun. Their staff is very courteous and helpful. Make sure u go on the waterslide. They also have a gym and a a games room.

Sweet sixteen help?!!?

francisco

I want to have a sweet sixteen but not too expensive, and small not big, maybe 30-50 people. I want it outdoors but I need ideas and help! Please? My birthday is at the end of may

Answer
Here are some ideas for your party. That's a good number of people and you can pull off any number of these ideas.

Dance Party: This is by far the most popular party. Itâs the most popular for a reason, if you find the right entertainment it can be the most fun of all the different party types. Think about your school dances, many schools only have two per year of which you may only be allowed to attend one! But everywhere you look you see other people having dances on TV or in movies. Rock Band, DDR or Guitar Hero Party: Why not take the games you play with your friends to the next level? Having games and party favors within the theme can help turn it into an awesome party. Big blow up screens can oftentimes cost less than $200 and can be used with standard projectors.

Pool Party: Pools are a great way for your friends to relax and hang out in the pool. Hiring a DJ to keep the music going and to incorporate the pool into the evening with contests and games can be a really great party during the summer. I am having a pool party, i need advice!?

Q. SO i am 11 and i am having a pool party and about 8 ppl at my house. We will swim at my house and jump on my trampoline. What else can we do.

Answer
There's LOTS you can do!

Get some inflatable beach balls and scatter them around in the pool everyone will love having them to play around with.

Set up a volleyball net and play volleyball and badmitten.

Get an inflatable kiddie pool and fill it with water, break into 2 teams and have a tug of war, the losing team ends up in the water!

Set up some lounge chairs and waterproof cushions around the pool so when you and your friends aren't swimming you can use the area as a lounge area to hang around.

Have some relay races in the yard. Potato sack races, three legged races, etc.

You can do a pie eating contest, but instead of pie, fill the tins with whipped cream and whoever finishes first, wins!

Have some water balloon fights in the yard!

Set up an ice cream bar. Get chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream and some toppings. Sprinkles, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and cherries and have everyone make their own sundaes. You can go to the dollar store and get the plastic sundae glasses or the grocery store and get the waffle cone bowls.

You can play some team sports, kickball, soccer, baseball, etc.

Play charades, pictionary, board games, etc.

I'm sure there's some water games you and your friends can come up with, with the beach balls you can play volleyball in the pool, come up with a mid-point for the net, and have 4 on one side and 4 on the other.

I hope some of these ideas help and that you have a great party!

A 10-ft wide round water trampoline is floating in a pool measuring x ft by x ft. Find a polynomial for the remaining surface area of the pool.

Answer
The area of the pool is Length x Bredth since its square. But since both sides are x ft long the total area is just x^2.

The area of the trampoline is (1/4) * (pi) * (D^2) which just gives you 78.54 ft^2

The remaining area is therefore:

A = x^2 - 78.54

Best kind of water trampolines for a good price?

Kody S

I live on a channel on a fresh water lake and I would like to put a water trampoline out in the water. I don't need a huge one, but I still want a good sized one. It would be used by teenagers and rarely any kids and my oldest sons and their friends that are in their early 20's. So it has to be durable and it has to be able to hold teenagers and adults. I don't want one that only allows us to only have very little people on at one time. AND LIKE I SAID IT WOULD GET A LOT OF USE. So anyways, what is the best brand? What is the best kind? Whats the best one that will fit my needs? I don't want to spend a lot of money because I'm not up at the lake too much but when I am the trampoline would get a good beating. So keep the price as low as possible. Any ideas on water trampolines? Tell me a trampoline and the model that would fit my criteria or give me a link. Thanks and please answer.

Answer
if you're looking for a tramp because of the bouncing part, then forget it. the water dampens the bounce and they really aren't a lot of fun after about 10 minutes. We have a small one and every weekend at the lake I see no body... count em o.... use it. the people to use it are 9, 12, 13, 15 ,16 ,19, years old. they got bored really fast. look at the big tubes. they can be used to float around on + they are towable.

Word of Life Island camp?

HawkNelson

has anyone ever been to the WOL island camp? how was it? i'm going for my first time in a few weeks.

Answer
I have been several times. I actually was a camper there for 5 years, then worked there for three summers and will be working there again this summer. It's a pretty amazing place. There is tons of stuff to do. If I had to pick a favorite spot I would say that the beach is top of the list. You can go tubing, hit up the blob or the aqua trampoline, play volley ball, go down the incredibly long water slide...the beach provides a lot of things to do. If you are not a beach person there is also a bunch of other stuff you could do like the climbing tower or ropes course, playing in one of the tournaments or just chilling up at the snack shack. Another one of my personal favorites is going on the party barge. I think it's $7 and you go out on a barge around the Island for about 45 min and get all the wings soda and ice cream you can eat. It's at night and I think it's pretty cool to go out with some of your cabin mates and counselors just to relax and have a fun time.

A typical day would be...waking up, going to breakfast with your cabin, then going to the morning meeting. A little bit after the morning meeting you will have an activity that all campers and counselors participate in. From what I can see those are shaping up to be pretty sweet. Then lunch is next and after lunch you have free time till dinner. Usually after dinner there is another activity or meeting and free time. They keep you pretty busy but it's not like you don't have time to chill. The last thing of the day would be devos at night, given by one of your counselors.

Oh! Something else you may want to know, there are a few competitions that go on during the week. There is the big one between the red and blue team (you can bring clothes those colors to support your team) and then there are cabin competitions. You basically compete for what's called cabin of the week. Throughout the week you have opportunities to gain points for your cabin to win a free party barge. It's all about being creative (bribing the program staff and the Unit Leaders helps), participating is sports tournaments and being enthusiastic at meetings. One thing that can help is dressing up for the morning theme. This year the dress up days are....Mon, cardboard accessory day, Tuesday, go green, Wed. future, Thurs, african safari/outback. and friday (my personal favorite) is dress your counselor. You can bring some things to dress up for each mornings theme and get points for your cabin!

Well that is like a truck load of what goes on on the Island. I hope this gives some insight as to what your week will be like. It's a pretty amazing place...I keep going back year after year! I just love it! If you want you can check out the web sight at www.wol.org/camps/island for more info!

I need help dieting any tips?

Fern

Add low fat milk or yogurt, banana, walnuts and berries. Drink hot Ovaltine. Breakfast should be your largest meal of the day to raise blood sugar level which falls during the night.

Lunch: Egg, tuna or turkey ½ sandwich on whole grain (not just whole wheat) bread with bean or alfalfa sprouts, yogurt, fresh fruit.

Dinner: salad with white meat chicken and fresh (not canned) veggies: tomatoes, 2 kinds of lettuce, 2 kinds of shredded cabbage, shredded or sliced carrots, alfalfa or bean sprouts, zucchini, green or red peppers, hard boiled eggs, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, tofu, cottage cheese...Instead of dressing, squeeze 1/4 tomato over it.

Avoid junk food, fast foods, pastries, desserts, anything with sugar (cancer cells feed on sugar), gluten, syrup (even canned fruit in syrup), peanut butter, fat/grease (pork, wieners, chops, bacon, salami, pizza, chips, fries), pasta, potatoes, ramen, popcorn, white bread, rice, canned veggies, ice cream, soda, chips, tobacco, alcohol and coffee.

Take appetite suppressants.

Activities for VERY active 3 year old?

Proud Mama

My son is very active and rambunctious, I need some ideas for how to keep him entertained that isn't messy as I run a storage facility and have random times when the phone rings or someone comes in and needs assistance. I need activities that are OK for him to be left alone with for a short time without danger or the risk of him making a mess. Any ideas are welcome

Answer
My brother was like this. He was kicked out of play group as a toddler, and was known to climb store shelves if brought indoors. So, for a number of years, his mother would bring him to the park all day every day, where he could let out his energy.

Some indoor ideas for the situation you're talking about:
Buy a mini indoor trampoline for him to jump on (they fold up)
Let him play with some giant cardboard blocks (these are super fun, and don't hurt if thrown, as they're made of folded up cardboard)
Get him a mini tent, and give him soft toys and supplies to build a fort
Brio trains
Set him up with an activity table: drawing station, play doe station, Lego station, silly faces mirror station, puzzle station
Automatic bubble machine
Turn his favourite music on
Put on a children's CD with his favourite stories or songs

Some tips for the long run:
Make sure your child is getting enough sleep. For this age, he should be going to bed around 8PM, sleeping about 11 hrs at night, and getting a 1-2 hr nap in the early afternoon. Children often act more manic and wild when they're over-tired. A well-slept child is an easier child.

Make sure he's getting enough exercise. During his waking hours, give him plenty of opportunities to run around and get his ya-ya's out. Plenty of outdoor time to run around; a play-ground; and a foot-trike, tricycle, or bicycle with training wheels are all a 3-yr-old needs. As an extra option, if he seems ready for some structure, you might also enrol him in sports or dance lessons. Yoga, swimming, and ballet are great options.

Keep him away from refined foods such as white flour and sugar. Make sure he is getting 3 balanced meals and 3 snacks each day. Give him water to drink instead of juice (or if you do give juice, cut it with water).

Have him practice moments of stillness. Have him sit in a chair, starting with 1 minute, and gradually increase. Don't make it a punishment, but do it when he's getting too wild, to help him calm down. Children's emotions and energy can get so intense, that they don't know what to do with themselves; thus resulting in wild mania. By teaching him self-discipline (which actually means teaching) in a safe setting controlled by you, he will gradually build the skills to calm himself. You can make this activity fun by putting on some calming music, or reading him a story. It's not a punishment: it's quiet time.

questions about healthy living?

I am trying to lose wieght and know that crash dieting isn't for me nor does it actually work. I am 160 and 5'5, female. My ideal wieght is 130. I have been watching my calorie intake and am slowly adding in an exercise regimine, but I want to know if there is anything else I can do? I keep reading all types of online weight loss tips and books, but they all seem to have conflicting suggestions. I am also taking Hoodia, which does help me not feel hungry all the time (and I am taking the minium dosage)

Can someone suggest to me certain exercises I can do at home or in the car( I do lot of driving)?
Is there foods, other than celery, that has no fat and very little calories that I can eat? ( I hate celery)
Should I detox? I have lowered my calorie intake to 1500 or less, but should I go lower?
I would really appreciate some guidance.

Answer
Sounds like you have the basic building blocks of a healthy diet. Congratulations! Many people never get that far.

I started a program last year, and I have been in maintenance mode for 8 months so far. You are doing the right thing by starting slowly. You might want to tweak what you are eating to make sure that you are getting all the nutrition you are supposed to get. Are you getting 5-8 servings of fruit and vegetables a day? Are you getting 25g of fiber a day (that REALLY helps with feeling full)? Detox doesn't sound necessary, and if you are eating enough fiber and drinking 8 glasses of water a day - that will... er... get you regular and take out anything that's been sticking around too long. Water will also help you feel full.

If you are reading weightloss books, start taking notes. If you read something that really makes sense to you, write it down on a notecard. Then, stop obsessing over it. It sounds like your current calorie intake is fine if you are consistently exercising. If you go too low, you are in danger of hitting starvation mode.

For food, I love broccoli - I keep the frozen stuff with low-fat cheese sauce in my freezer for snacking. I have no-sugar added applesauce cups at work (50 calories a serving), along with mini whole wheat bagels (120 calories and high in fiber). A turkey sandwich on Low-cal, High fiber bread is 130 calories. The fruit bowl in the house is always stocked, and I just can't seem to buy enough bananas. As for exercise, I have a jogging trampoline in front of the TV - it's not the same as going for a run, but it still gets me moving instead of lying on the couch.

Good luck!

Yeah, I'm a bozo, but I go to the pool. I go to the board (maybe about 5 ft. from the water) and I'll see these guys do these crazy aeronautic flips and twists and vaults through the air. Now when I get to the board, if I try to dive, I generally gain no air and just end up doing a standard dive, without gaining much air in the jump.

I guess what I'm getting at is, how do you get to the point where you jump off the board, launch through the air and do a dive? Are there certain steps to practice first to build up to doing the dive?

Answer
There are two basic ways:
1) Take a bit of a run-up and jump into the air about a meter infront of the end of the board. Time the speed and distance so you land near the end of the board (as close as possible without danger of slipping off - you will crack your back and head on the edge of the board). As you are in the air raise your legs a bit and as you come down straighten your legs onto the board. With your weight pushing the board down and the thrust of you legs it will give you extra spring. This will project you up into the air quite high and because of the run-up, forward. Sort of go up and then bend in the air down into the dive. This is a good way to start. Oh yes, as you feel the board is about to spring you up push with your legs, down. This will give you more spring and lift.
You will get the feel of it after a few jumps.

2) Stand on the dge of the board and jump up, raise your legs and as you come down straighten them into the spring of the board. (like above). Do this mabe three times and you will get good height (like in a trampoline). Then dive. With this you don't have the forward motion so becareful you will land near the fron of the board, on the last spring, spring forward. Do the same bend in the air and dive in.

If you have a trampoline to practice the leg movement on - great. If not keep practicing till you get it (usually 5 or so jumps). The first few might be bit odd. From there you can start doing summersaults and stuff using the run-up as forward momentum. Only do this when you are comfortable though. And be prepared for a couple of very ouch landings. Good fun! Its all about co-ords and timing. After a few jumps it is second nature and you won't even think about it.

Good luck and happy landings!

Is this a good bucket list so far?

What is the best water trampoline? 10 points for best answer!?

gymnast

my family is buying a house on a lake and i have always dreamed of having a water trampoline. My birthday is in july and i was hoping to use this to my advantage. I am a competitive gymnast and i need the most jumping room for under $400. i would prefer a new one but i know that is hard with my price range. 8 feet of the actual trampoline part will not be enough for me. My dad is hard to convince he needs to have lots of research to even think of buying one. To maximize my chances of actually getting one i need to do a ton of research so he doesn't have to, so please add links. Thank you for your help!

Answer
The following is a list of many of the frequently asked questions about water trampolines.

Q: What is the difference between a water trampoline and a water bouncer?

A: A water trampoline and a water bouncer have a few distinct differences. Water bouncers tend to be smaller, less expensive and also do not produce as high of jumps. This is because water bouncers have netting that is attached directly to the inflation tube whereas water trampolineâs netting is attached by springs to a frame which allows for higher bouncing and can support heavier weight loads.

Q: How do you inflate a water trampoline or bounce platform?

A: The most common method for inflation is using a shop vacuum as they have a high air flow rates. The shop vac should attach to the adapter that comes with most water trampolines, water bouncers and accessories. There are also pumps available for inflation of your water trampoline of choice. We do NOT recommend using an air compressor to inflate your water trampoline as over inflation can damage the tube.

Q: What type of warranty comes with water trampolines?

A: The warranty differs depending on which brand of water trampoline you choose. Most brands come with at least a one year warranty as long as the product has not been used for commercial purposes. We suggest you check with the bradnâs home webpage to find out the specific warranty.

Q: How much and how long does it take to ship a water trampoline?

A: Right now we are offering free shipping on all water trampolines. Shipping will take approximately 7-10 business days. For more information on this check out our shipping page located at the bottom of our homepage.

Q: Do all Rave products need to be anchored and if so how?

A: Water bouncers and water trampolines do need to be anchored. The smaller water bouncers should be anchored with a simple D-ring anchor or a weight over 20 pounds will suffice. Water trampolines require a weight of over 60 pounds and bell anchors are recommended. Additional information is provided in the ownerâs manual that is provided with your purchase.

Q: Should bouncers wear life vests?

A: Yes, safety is key in enjoying any water trampoline or water bouncer. No matter how deep the water is life vests should be worn at all times.

Q: Where is the form for the free attachment located on your site?

A: There is a link to the form for a free attachment located on the homepage of the website in the top right corner.

Q: Can water trampolines be left out in the water?

A: Most people leave water trampolines out for an entire season and take them out during the colder months. Two things to consider are local regulations about anchoring in your area and the wind speeds around your area. Water trampolines or other products should not be anchored in the water during wind speeds exceeding 15 miles per hour.

Q: Are water trampolines repairable or patchable?

A: Most product come with a repair kit and instructions on how to patch up holes. The kit contains adhesive and extra piece of fabric along with a comprehensive instruction manual. Other parts may need to be replaced in time such as springs or the jump surface.

Q: Can water trampolines be used on land?

A: Yes, but only on grassy even surfaces. it should not but used on gravel or rocks. A water trampoline will not have the bouncing abilities of a land trampoline because it is meant to be used in the water and the tube will absorb most of the energy.

Q: How deep should the water be when using a water trampoline?

A: A water trampoline or water bouncer should never be used in less than six feet of water in order to prevent any injuries.

Q: How long is total set up time?

A: Total set up time ranges depending on which product you purchase. Water bouncers require only inflation which typically takes a maximum of thirty minutes while water trampolines can take a bit longer because the assembly of the fame and jumping surface is required.

I have provided a link to a plethora of information on water-trampolines and bouncers.

I am thinking about getting a water trampoline to put on a lake and had a few questions. Can you actually jump on them like a normal trampoline or are they just like a platform to sit on? How much is a decent price? Do you have one?--If you could go back, would you get one or not?

Answer
they don't have much bounce and get boring fast. would never buy again
