Fun things to in Mill Creek WA, or Everett WA?

Bella

I'm really bored and my friend is coming over. We want to do something fun in Mill Creek or Everett or something around those areas. Like a lake, fun pools, idk something like that. We don't want to do boring normal stuff.

Answer
Have you tried the indoor trampoline place yet? It's on the Bothell-Everett Highway south of Mill Creek:

http://www.elevatedsportz.com/#sthash.PpPrgONl.dpbs

For lakes you have Martha Lake on 164th (small swimming area, difficult parking)
and Silver Lake (larger beach and swimming area)
Pools - there is an outdoor pool at McCollum Park (on 132nd) - nothing special there, but it's outdoors
Forest Park in Everett has an indoor pool with a rope swing, inflatable obstacle course and more
Lynnwood pool has a lazy river and two inner tube rides)

And there is always Jetty Beach - take a small ferry across the Everett Marina waterway over to Jetty Island - big sandy beach with warm(er) water, lots of kite boarding to watch etc. It doesn't feel like you are still in the city at all.

I am having a pool party, i need advice!?

Q. SO i am 11 and i am having a pool party and about 8 ppl at my house. We will swim at my house and jump on my trampoline. What else can we do.

Answer
There's LOTS you can do!

Get some inflatable beach balls and scatter them around in the pool everyone will love having them to play around with.

Set up a volleyball net and play volleyball and badmitten.

Get an inflatable kiddie pool and fill it with water, break into 2 teams and have a tug of war, the losing team ends up in the water!

Set up some lounge chairs and waterproof cushions around the pool so when you and your friends aren't swimming you can use the area as a lounge area to hang around.

Have some relay races in the yard. Potato sack races, three legged races, etc.

You can do a pie eating contest, but instead of pie, fill the tins with whipped cream and whoever finishes first, wins!

Have some water balloon fights in the yard!

Set up an ice cream bar. Get chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream and some toppings. Sprinkles, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and cherries and have everyone make their own sundaes. You can go to the dollar store and get the plastic sundae glasses or the grocery store and get the waffle cone bowls.

You can play some team sports, kickball, soccer, baseball, etc.

Play charades, pictionary, board games, etc.

I'm sure there's some water games you and your friends can come up with, with the beach balls you can play volleyball in the pool, come up with a mid-point for the net, and have 4 on one side and 4 on the other.

I hope some of these ideas help and that you have a great party!

What Should be Attention When Start Your Inflatable slides Business

Answer
Bouncy castle and similar structures are temporary inflatable buildings and structures that are rented for functions, school and church festivals and village fetes and used for recreational purposes, mainly used by children. The growth in popularity of moonwalks has led to an inflatable rental industry which includes inflatable slides, obstacle courses, games, and more. Inflatables are ideal for portable amusements because they are easy to transport and store. The name given to such structures varies.

They have been marketed with such names as bounce house, Moon Bounce, Astrojump, Moonwalk, Jolly Jump and Spacewalk. The term "Bounce House" came to popularity with the resurgence of hipster culture in New England. "Pula pula" is another name commonly used by Latinos, which literally means "jump jump". The term 'Jolly Jumps' is often used to describe the inflatable playground structure in rural areas and some areas in the Western US, but the term is otherwise obsolete.

Although they are often aimed at children, adult castles can be hired in the many countries, like UK,US,China,Europe and so on. Because of liability concerns, moonwalks are rarely rented to adults in the US. Historically, names for inflatable structures, particularly in the United States, are composed of two, one syllable words. In the United States the terms that consist of two, one syllable words are popular. In Southern California, another popular term is Closed Inflatable Trampolines, or "CITs". Bouncy Castle or Inflatable Castle are used in Ireland, the UK, New Zealand and parts of Australia, and Jumping Castles in Arizona, Australia, Canada and South Africa.

As a whole the term moon bounce has become a generic term for enclosed inflatable trampolines worldwide. Following the popular of inflatables, more and more countries start a rental business, and the kinds of inflatables more and more day by day. Except bouncy castle, also water slide, inflatable tent, giant inflatables, bounce house for children. Many buyer found that usually people are willing buy one or two pieces of bouncy castle or water slide for their children. So not only to rental inflatble, some big imported especial import some small size family using inflatables.

Actually that brings big profit to importer, becuase inflatable field is few in their country and the cose is very expensive in Europe and America,Australia. Also some advertising company will order the big inflatable tent for sport, like tennis, basketball, football, badmin and so on. In winter many countries will snow, it will effect outdoor sports, but many youngers like outdoor sport in winter. Based on this, some smart merchant found that and place order about tent. One of my clients even order an big size of 30*60*15m for 600 people. At present his business is very good.

I need interesting fact and details about puerto rico?

Its for a school project

Answer
The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico is located in the Caribbean Sea, about 1,000 mi east-southeast of Miami, Fla. A possession of the United States, it consists of the island of Puerto Rico plus the adjacent islets of Vieques, Culebra, and Mona. Puerto Rico has a mountainous, tropical ecosystem with very little flat land and few mineral resources.
US citizens do not require Passports and Visas to travel in or out of Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is part of the USA. The currency used in Puerto Rico is the US dollar. Puerto Rico is a Spanish-speaking nation. Due to our close ties with the USA, most people speak some English and many are fluent.

Old San Juan The walls and fortifications of Old San Juan are still standing and are part of the heritage left by Spain to Puerto Rico. Today the cobblestone streets, interior patios, hanging balconies, plazas, and chapels make of this historic city a charming and picturesque place to visit.
The Spanish used then to protect the transportation of gold, silver and jewels, on its route from America to Spain, the Spaniards built a series of forts in the Caribbean. The beautiful city of San Juan founded in 1521. A massive wall and forts were built around the city to protect it from the enemy. The city was used as a stopover for ships that came from Spain and a stronghold to prevent the enemy from taking control of the island and making Puerto Rico an enemy base.

Although Puerto Rican cooking is somewhat similar to both Spanish and Mexican cuisine, it is a unique tasty blend of Spanish, African, Taíno, and American influences, using such indigenous seasonings and ingredients as coriander, papaya, cacao, nispero, apio, plantains, and yampee. Locals call their cuisine "cocina criolla".

beaches At the shoreline, there are all types of activities to enjoy. Watercraft sports such as kayaks, catamarans, and water-skimming tricycles, moored in shallow waters is a trampoline and there is fishing for marlin and snapper. Those who want to venture farther out hop on a boat to reach some of the best diving and snorkeling spots in the Caribbean. A mask and fins are all you will need to explore the reef at Gilligan's Island, five minutes away by ferry. After dark is one of Puerto Rico's most exciting light shows

National park
El Yunque, Puerto Rico's rain forest is necessary to see. It spreads out over a mountain, so if you walk uphill from the road you are in a cool rain forest. At any altitude, you will see numerous varieties of plant and animal life. If you are lucky, you can catch a glimpse of the endangered Puerto Rican parrot & hear the song of the local Coqui tree frog. There are tons of hiking trails and the Yokahu tower is a great spot to see the forest from above the trees. Two trails lead you straight down to La Mina waterfalls. You can swim at the bottom of the falls in the cold refreshing water

Should I Join the Circus?

Zehpyr Sto

I am thinking about joining a circus because I can do a backflip through a hula-hoop, and much more acrobatic things on the ground and on a trampoline. My step-dad thinks I should, my aunt thinks I should, and almost everybody I know says I should try, but the problem is, I'm extremely shy! I'm afraid that won't think I have what it takes, and I'm just worried about what they'll say. What should I do? Should I at least try, or should I just say forget it?

Answer
It takes a lot more than doing a back flip or simple acrobatics to be accepted by a circus. My FIRST question would be HOW OLD ARE YOU? If you are UNDER 17 then NO circus will hire you until you are at least 17.

Children can no longer just run away and join a circus.. they have all the people they need to water the elephants and clean the animal stalls because there are 10 unskilled people for every job that comes available and many circuses don't even HAVE animals any longer.

To join ANY CIRCUS you will need FORMAL TRAINING... just because you can do a back flip only says you can be TRAINED... The Circus is a BUSINESS... they won't TRAIN YOU unless you can bring some basic talent to the audition.

Here are some recognized CIRCUS ARTS SCHOOLS where you can at least learn enough of the BASICS to apply for an AUDITION to be in a circus..

NOTE: I have not vetted these circus schools, I am merely listing as many as I can find that SEEM to be legitimate.. It is up to YOU to do your own investigations to see if any school will fit your needs. For a COMPLETE LIST of Circus Schools then go to GOOGLE and enter CIRCUS SCHOOLS then follow the links to see what else is out there you may find of use.

3 year old son only fights with the same boy?

inflatable trampoline for children on inflatable trampoline manufacturer, custom inflatable trampolines ...
inflatable trampoline for children image

lobquin

My son just turned 3, he has a friend a couple months younger than him. whenever we see this little boy all they do is fight with each other. They hit, tackle, push, kick, and jump on each other, and it's not just fun. This child's grandmother teaches him to fight. I do not like the effect it has on my son, but its not my place to discipline that child. The little boy has a 4.5 year old sister that my son gets along great with, they don't fight at all.

I have to point out my son doesn't act like this around other children either, he'll meet new kids and he may be a bit eccentric but he doesn't just run up to them and start hitting. I visit quite frequently with this little boy, and I don't want to deal with them fighting every time I go over. How can I get my son to stop fighting with this one boy? why does he do this?

Answer
From reading the other responses, I have to say that I don't think the issue is that your child is scared of this other boy, it's just that when they get together BOTH kids play too rough for your taste. Your options are these:

1) Stop seeing that other little TWO year old boy "quite frequently" until he's worked past this phase or until your little guy has enough self control not to engage in behavior that you find unacceptable.

2) Talk with your own son in advance about what behaviors you expect during your visit and bring along things both kids can play with (inflatable trampoline, tricycles, balls, bubbles, painting the fence with water, etc.) that will allow them to work out their energy together and then micromanage their play so that you are constantly establishing boundaries and rules and modeling problem solving strategies so that the violence level is acceptable to you.

3) Relax a bit. My son is a sweet quiet boy who loves building toys and is generally cautious and quiet except when he's around one particular friend. The other boy's mother is a bit older and she is relaxed about their "play." She's a good friend and I finally had to take a step back and realized that ttwo boys wrestling around on the grass together was not going to cause permanent damage and we are there to step in if it looks like someone is going to get hurt (eg. they pick up a toy that could be a projectile or are wrestling near a table or edge of the playground where someone could fall and hurt themselves) When they were two and three, we often joked that we just got together to let the kids burn energy beating on each other. However, at four and five, they each have other interests and play games together - the "we only know how to interact in a way that is physical" phase has passed.

You don't say what your relationship is, but I'm assuming that #1 isn't an option, so I'd suggest getting together in a more structured setting (eg. a "Mommy and Me" type class) or leaving your son with a babysitter/his father while you have adult time. It sounds like #2 is what you're doing now "not fun" - but if you're in a babysitter type role than that with some advance planning on your part, you can make the playdates work. #3 is what I went with, but that doesn't mean it's right for you. If you are really worried about your child's safety or if your child suddenly starts behaving violently towards others then I'd say go back to #1.

what are some fun things to do with a 2 year old during the summer?

just_a_gir

i am pregnant with our second child now and my son will be turning 2 years old next week. my husband and i want to do some fun things with him this summer since we probably wont be able to do much next summer. we have discussed taking him to disney world but i am afraid he is not old enough to enjoy it. do you think he is too young or do you think it would be fun for him?
thanks you for all the great ideas! i never really thought about taking him camping. we live in tennessee and we about 20 mins away from a lot of really great campsites plus lots of lakes. we may wait on the disney world thing til he is older.

Answer
I think Disney World would be great! There are plenty of little rides for him, but I think he would enjoy it more and remember it better when he gets older.

I think it would be cheaper (and mean a lot more to him) if you spent your vacation money on stuff to do at home. Get him a nice pool. Inflatable or not, I've seen some nice ones at the dollar store for $25 and are big enough for four people or so. That's big enough for the three of you to get in and splash around. I think he'd have even more fun if you let him go through the store and pick out water toys to play with too. When he's young, all he wants to do is spend time with his parents and feel loved.

Aside from water (which was ALWAYS my favorite), try chalk. Inexpensive and fun. Get him a little bike with training wheels and let him play with that. Rent movies and stay up late in the summer watching them with some popcorn or snacks. Go camping! Oh how I LOVED camping!! You can go just about anywhere nowadays and find a place to hike, sit in a canoe or paddle boat, fish, and have a fire. I know I always loved watching a fire, making smores, and throwing in small sticks and feeling like I was a big help. Also, try building something. Maybe this summer your husband can have some bonding time with your son and build a club house? That'd be a great place for him to play as well as a wonderful place for the new baby to play in when she gets older too!

Try asking your son what he wants to do during the week and plan for it on the weekend if he wants to go out someplace. I don't know if your son likes babysitters, but my boyfriend's niece and nephew LOVED playing in the McDonalds play place with us. They did for hoouurrrsss. In the end, we were more tired! I also babysit girls who just have a ball when I'm over and are constantly asking for me. You might look in your church or someplace and find a good, social babysitter to play with your kids.

Sprinklers, water balloons, fire fly catching, camping, butterfly catching, fishing, frog catching, drawing with chalk, etc.

Dollar Stores are my favorite for anything. One thing I love getting is Silly String. You can pick up a can for about $2 each. Get half a dozen in your favorite colors and go outside and shoot each other. Run behind trees and have fun. Also try adding water balloons to the play fun.

If you're really into the idea of a vacation more than several camping trips because you don't like the mosquitoes or the idea of not taking a shower everyday gets to you, try some place more like a beach or lake. I went to a wonderful resort in Tennessee that had a beach. There was a small lake and nice sand as well as a nice pool. Though he'd need some assistance in the water, I think that would be great!

Try to spend everyday with him doing something fun. Cook with him, make arts and crafts (supplies at a dollar store like popsicle sticks, play dough, paints, etc!), and make every little day something special. Buy a CD Player and play his favorite songs while you clean or are having fun. Buy a mini trampoline he can jump on and make "obstacle courses" out of pillows and blankets over chairs that you guys have to run through.

I know my parents are big on vacations, but they were never really all that much fun for me because someone was always fighting with someone else. It's nice since it's just the three of you, so it might work! But I know I always got along best (and had the most fun and made the best memories) when we were just doing something at home together. (:

I need to convince myself to hate food?

water trampoline dangers on Water Trampolines Manufacturer/Distributor of Water Trampolines ...
water trampoline dangers image

Michelle

Please understand, I do not want to be anorexic. I realize the dangers of an unhealthy lifestyle and this is not my intention.

The reasons why:
About 5 years ago I made a decision to lose weight and get down to my normal BMI weight (120 lbs). I am currently 160 and REALLY want to get down to a healthy weight. I try REALLY hard to eat right and exercise but I always screw up and get frustrated.

I need to reprogram myself to eat the right foods and to not want to eat the wrong foods. The only reason that I want to consume food is for my health and energy, but if eating becomes too pleasurable, I know I'll just start eating badly again.

I don't have a lot to lose, but not being able to get this weight off is making me really depressed and effects my self confidence. I just want to be able to look and feel healthy, but because I'm so short, those extra pounds really show up!

Do you have any pointers on how I can make eating not so enjoyable?

PS. I have successfully incorporated an exercise routine of 45 min. of jogging 5 times a week. The exercise alone is not helping me to achieve the desired results.

Answer
You're right, exercise alone is not enough. You can lose 40 lbs in just 4 mo. with a good, healthy, low carb food/exercise plan:

Breakfast: Cook 9-grain cereal (from health food store) in water with rolled oats and wheat bran. Make a big pot of it on weekends and nuke 1/2 cup each morning. Add low fat milk or yogurt, banana, walnuts and berries. Drink hot Ovaltine. Breakfast should be your largest meal of the day to raise blood sugar level which falls during the night.

Lunch: Egg, tuna or turkey ½ sandwich on whole grain bread with bean or alfalfa sprouts and yogurt w/fruit. If you had meat loaf for dinner, bring a meat loaf sandwich on whole grain bread (NO mayo). On cold days, a squatty thermos of hot chili, split peas with ham, or beef stew.

Snacks: Fresh (not canned) fruit: banana, orange, apple, kiwi, grapes, peach, nectarine, cherries, pineapple. No chips and nothing ever from a vending machine.

Dinner: salad with white meat chicken and fresh (not canned) veggies: tomatoes, 2 kinds of lettuce, 2 kinds of shredded cabbage, shredded or sliced carrots, alfalfa or bean sprouts, zucchini, green or red peppers, hard boiled eggs, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, tofu, cottage cheese...Instead of dressing, squeeze 1/4 tomato over it.

Or homemade bean/vegetable soups; great way to recycle leftovers.
Or grilled fish with steamed veggies.

Or omelet: In blender, whip together eggs, tofu, cottage cheese, onions, garlic powder. Cook with mushrooms, chopped tomatoes and green or red peppers.

Foods to avoid: junk food, fast foods, pastries, desserts, sugar, salty foods, syrup (even canned fruit in syrup), peanut butter, fat/grease (pork, wieners, chops, bacon, salami, pizza, chips, fries), pasta, potatoes, white bread, rice, canned veggies, ice cream, soda, chips. And of course no tobacco or alcohol in any form. Both of those add wrinkles and destroy your brain. No oil except olive and mac nut. Coffee also rots your brain.

To keep your skin clear, drink water. Veg. juice is good too. But not canned juice (too much sugar.)

Join a gym; they have all the equipment and staff to show you how to use it to get the look you want to achieve. Much cheaper than buying your own equipment. Go hiking, biking, jogging, bowling, swimming, rowing, jump rope, play tennis, badminton, volleyball, soccer, jumping jacks, lift weights, trampoline? To tone your tummy, do sit ups, push ups, pull ups, leg lifts and crunches.

If you lack energy, take Super B complex. Try appetite suppressants.

Why do I laugh uncontrollably?

No name

I've done this weird thing my whole life where I just start laughing over something and I just can't stop laughing. I start laughing over whatever stupid thing and then I find it hilarious that I'm laughing so hard over something that nobody else thinks is that funny, so it makes me laugh more, like self perpetuating laughter. I mean like silent, nostrils flaring, watering eyes, cant breathe kinda of laughing for a long time. When I see other people looking at me like I'm crazy, it just makes me laugh more because I think that's funny too! I used to get in trouble for this when I was a kid because I would laugh for like 30 minutes straight. Well fast forward to now I am 26 years old and I still do this. I may be sitting in a restaurant with someone who gets up to go to the bathroom and while their gone I think of something funny, that maybe even happened 2 weeks before that and I start laughing. I laugh so hard and I know thats weird and people will think I'm crazy so I put my phone up to my ear so it just looks like I'm talking on the phone to cover up my crazy laughing. Today in the college classroom during group study time I said something that struck me funny and the cycle began. After about 10 minutes I couldn't stop and i thought i was gonna get in trouble so I had to leave the classroom and stood in the hallway by myself laughing until I settled down but for the rest of the day I continued to laugh and giggle off and on for no apparent reason, other than just getting a kick out of myself laughing over whatever the originally funny thought was. Even now just thinking about it all makes me laugh. I know that sounds kinda weird. I'm just curious if this is a sign if something like bipolar or a neurological disorder or something. I rather enjoy it and don't want a "cure". I'm just curious. I am naturally a very energetic person with a warped sense of humor so it may just be that, I don't know.

Answer
Bipolar disorder is a mood disorder causing the sufferer to have mania or hypomania and depression.

I developed it at 14 and was diagnosed at 18. I go through weeks and months of being depressed, feeling suicidal, hopeless and worthless, going days without leaving bed, never washing or dressing or eating. Trying to kill myself and hurt myself. Sleeping over 18 hours a day and only getting up for the toilet and even then one day i went the whole day without doing that as i was too depressed to get up. Then ill switch into mania and i am the complete opposite. Stay up all night for days and days or get like 3 hours a night and am NEVER tired, completely full of energy and confidence. Reckless and impulsive. Do things like sleep with strangers, steal and shoplift, spend every penny i have on anything, drinking every day, doing drugs or all of the above. I think i can do anything I want and do not care about the consequences. Aggressive and have fits of rage, i once trashed my mums apartment and tore her front door down. Nothing is going fast enough for me. My body can't keep up with me and i am full of ideas. My thoughts race and i talk a million miles an hour. I have no control over my behavior or anything i say. In my last mania i tried to trampoline a moving car and I once told my psychiatrist all about my sex life and how i f**k the sh** out of my boyfriend when manic and how it sucks to be a loonbag. I also hear voices telling me to kill myself and harm others and have hallucinations and delusions that lead me to be a danger to myself.

Bipolar moods are more than emotional highs and lows, its mania and depression, and when you are in either state you are in it for weeks and months on end and your mood doesn't change at all then after however long you switch to normal or the opposite state.

You clearly do not understand what bipolar disorder is. It is not laughing for no reason everyone does that. You just sound like a happy person.

What is the most effective and cheapest way to keep leaves and acorns off my trampoline?

water trampolines parts on Leg Brace : Trampoline Parts and Supply
water trampolines parts image

Alex McMul

I have a trampoline but I live in the woods and I always have to clean it. I've heard of trampoline covers but do they work? Could I use a tarp? Anything else I could do?

Answer
Someone already mentioned trampoline tarps--it's a great way to keep off any sort of debris.

For already existing stuff, any kind of broom or rake will do the job just fine. A hose with good water pressure might be a good idea too if birds decide to use your trampoline for target practice--if they haven't already. You could use soap to really get it out (and I hear the slipping and sliding around is a small part of the fun), but I've also heard too much soap can damage the mat over time.

Hope I was of help! :)

How do you mow a lawn with a trampoline?

Kitkat

Ok so my dad might get me a trampoline for my birthday, but he is worried about our yard. Is there a way to mow under the trampoline without moving it? He always wants our yard to look good, and a lot of the things I've read about say you can just move it every time you mow the yard. How heavy is it to move? Any ideas that would be easy to do WITHOUT moving it?

Answer
Mow the lawn up to the trampoline then pull it onto the part already mowed and mow the rest of the lawn they slide easy and site the trampoline in different section of the lawn and will not have any bare spots but water and rain will get through just less light so better to move around different spot each time..very easy to slide to new spot each time..

Are naked beaches weird?

water trampolines usa on Water Trampolines
water trampolines usa image
Q. I was on a teen trip with my cousin and we asked for directions to th nearest beach to where we were. We were not told it was a naked beach! When we walked in we looked for seats and there we saw a butt naked man and woman just sitting around talking to each other. We thought this was weird but we didn't comment. While looking to find a seat we saw a ton of naked people but none in the water. When we got into the water we headed for the water trampoline. Once we were on two naked teenage girls came (I think my cousin liked their boobs). They started a convortation with us about normal stuff but they mentioned if we thought it was weird that they were naked. We said that being naked in public is not regular in the USA. finally we went in and each changed the one weird thing was that in the ladies room there were no stalls they just had a wall to pee on and many girls were using it. Are naked beaches regular are girls not letting other people see their vaginas and boobs regular do many girls just pee on a wall in front of a bunch of people?

Answer
No they are not weird. I am an American and believe that it is our culture that is strange, always equating nudity with sex. I do not know where you were, but i would bet that they have fewer sex crimes and violent crimes per capita.

bounce away trampolines?

blondie Xx

aaahh. im looking for a new trampoline but i dont want it to reck the grass n i need it to be bouncy to practice gymnastics on does anyone know about bounce away trampolines are they good where can you get them from e.c.t

Answer
Here is a video that might help. They look pretty neat.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcs9ryLAiBw

You can buy one here:
http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_oneslice=true&fh_eds=%3F&fh_reffacet=categories&fh_location=%2F%2Fcatalog01%2Fen_GB%2Fcategories%3C%7B9372012%7D%2Fcategories%3C%7B9372022%7D%2Fcategories%3C%7B9372072%7D&fh_refview=summary&fh_refpath=facet_159016185&fh_secondid=11237509

They appear to be made in the UK, so I doubt it would be cost effective to get one to the states. But I sent them an email to see if they have any distributors in the USA.

You could also maybe get one of those water trampolines or bouncers. Then you could inflate it. You won't get as much bounce as a real aluminum frame trampoline, but you could deflate it and pack it up when you are done. Maybe that would work? Something like this:
http://stores.channeladvisor.com/Bargain-Sports/Store/Search.aspx?sck=9874906&Page=1&Sort=5&key=water%20trampoline

Those trampolines are a bit more usually, but would be cool to have if you have a big pool or a lake you could use it in too.

A cute sweet sixteen/ Quince party theme?!?!?!?

katieandpe

i need a cute party theme : )

Answer
Sweet Sixteen Themes and Party Ideas:

Coming up with the perfect sweet sixteen theme doesn't have to be hard! Many times the best themes are right under your nose! Think about the best parties that you have been to, or seen on TV. Start with the sweet sixteen decorations and favors and work out from there if you are a visual person. These parties probably had a very cohesive theme to them, or felt like a good fit for the person having the party. Your party should be personal representing you, your likes, and what is most important to you for the party.

Dance Party: This is by far the most popular party theme. It's the most popular for a reason, if you find the right entertainment it can be the most fun of all the different party types. Think about your school dances, many schools only have two per year of which you may only be allowed to attend one! But everywhere you look you see other people having dances on TV or in movies. Dances allow you to throw your own party just like an adult where you can have a blast with all of your closest friends. If you find a DJ who specializes in sweet sixteen's with lights, games and contests you (or your parents) don't have to worry about anything except showing up, picking out the right music and having a blast with all of your friends! The right DJ should make sure everyone is involved and keep the party going all night.

Rock Band, DDR or Guitar Hero Theme Party: Why not take the games you play with your friends to the next level? Setup a screen, rent some lighting and speakers and have a real rock championship to determine the best Rock Band, Guitar Hero, or DDR players. Setting up a tournament with brackets and themed prizes can make your sweet sixteen party a blast!

Outdoor Movie Party: Having your party outdoors can be awesome for you and your friends to take in the great summer weather and watch a movie together. You can rent all the equipment you need to have a massive screen in your backyard or by the pool so you can all watch a movie together or make a movie night out of it. Having games and party favors within the theme can help turn it into an awesome party.

Pool Party: Pools are a great way for your friends to relax and hang out in the pool. Hiring a DJ to keep the music going and to incorporate the pool into the evening with contests and games can be a really great party during the summer. You can setup a giant inflatable movie screen next to the pool to show the movies on, or have a volleyball net or basketball hoop if you don't already have one for the pool.

Roller Skating/Ice Skating Party: Having an activity to focus on throughout the night is important if you don't like being the center of attention the whole night. It makes it easy for everyone to have a great time from your really outgoing guests, to friends who need a little help getting into the party. Having a roller or ice skating party can be a great theme option. Many rinks have a lot of creative ways to enhance your party. Having a local band or a DJ can also be a great way to kick up a party to the next level.

Lake Party: If you have a lake or campground near you, these parties can be the most memorable parties and weekends of your life. Most larger lakes have boats or pontoon boats that you can rent, or you can rent jet skis to have a blast with all your friends for your birthday party! Some lakes you can even combine pontoon boats with a dance party if the lake is big enough! You can also look into water trampolines, these can help turn your sweet sixteen party into the party of the year!

Scavenger Hunt: Having all of your friends show up ahead of time and surprising the birthday person with a party and then going out on a scavenger hunt can be an awesome party idea! It gives everyone something to do as well as adding competition into the night. Theme each stop after something that the birthday person likes or reminds you of them. You can do photo or video hunts or hunt for physical objects around town. Have the final location be a secret until you have found all the clues, then everyone can meet up at the final location to really celebrate your party with everyone together!
Once you've determined the type of party that you would like to have, then you start need to thinking about sweet sixteen decorations, djs, photography, and venues to host your party. These are all very important and finding the right combination can mean the difference between an amazing party and the worst night of your life!

Does anyone have any good ideas for a 16 birthday party?

A question aboutAutism or Sensory Problems?

water trampoline hawaii on ... Sports 02008 Bongo 13' Inflatable Water Bouncer Trampoline w/ Warranty
water trampoline hawaii image

autismh

I got custody of my son not to long ago. He has been evaluated and said to need speech therapy. His behavior seems destructive to me but I don't know if it is a result of autism or sensory problems. He does things like laugh a lot to himself, jump around, throws very important objects in water that has cost me a lot of money. If any one has any info on this or if sounds familiar please leave a reply. Thanks in advance.
His age is 3.

Answer
Your son's sensory problems would be best addressed by an OT (occupational therapist) who is trained in sensory integration, and familiar with autistic spectrum disorders. Autism and sensory problems overlap. You can have either but most that are autistic spectrum have sensory issues to some degree. I can tell you that once you begin OT, your child will make dramatic improvements within a few short weeks. Also behaviors peak between ages 2-3, so it will improve no matter what.

It does sound like your boy is very happy and doesn't have emotional issues. This is such a strength. My nearly 3 year old has wreaked havoc on our home, and his PDD.NOS older brother did not rip the house apart. This is somewhat of a phase, these spectrum kids are much easier to deal with once they hit 5. I have a large network of friends with autistic kids and they all seem to really improve at 5. We don't really go on vacation but I have friends who have taken autistic kids on planes to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Disney World and I just couldn't imagine doing this at my middle son's age. He just wouldn't be containable.

Childproof the best you can. We have locks on all our kitchen cabinets, that had to be drilled in, locks on bedrooms, babygates, water turned off in the bathroom sinks, Safety grips on the doors, chain locks, keylocks for a fire safe where we keep medications, we have a locked toolbox in the deadbolted locked garage where we keep detergent, windex, and any other chemicals. Its ridiculous, but necessary for now.

We did invest in a trampoline, which helps alot. Ours is 8 ft. enclosed and is only 18 inches off the ground. It came with a safety net. We also have other sensory things like a sit and spin, an indoor net swing, play doh, theraputty, indoor ball pit that has 350 balls and 100 bean bag weights, weighted blanket, medicine balls. Look into getting a free catalog from abilitations, and super duper. They are very informative.

Especially look at the sensory stuff, weigh me down, tie me up things. Your son is seeking deep pressure with the jumping. It causes joint compressions. He would really like the ball pit, trampoline, and playdoh.

Hi, I'm gonna go to tunisia next month, and I am gonna go alone, I've never actually travelled alone and I've never been to Tunisia before. So, I'd really appreciate it if someone who lives there or has been there would tell me about the things I could do there. The most important thing to me is SHOPPING (as any other girl :) ...... so, I'd even appreciate it muchhhh more if you tell me about the names of malls there were shopping could go on endlessly...thx in advance, and 10 points for the best answer ;)

Answer
First off, Sousse is one of the older cities in Tunisia, and possesses an authentic medina, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988.

PORT EL KANTAOUI a tourist complex 10 kilometers north of Sousse. It is a modern marina for over 300 boats & several golf courses, as well & a full array of other sporting activities from water skiing to paragliding. The 36-hole PGA approved championship course makes Port El Kantaoui a popular destination for golfing.

AQUA PALACE. There is a new water has many different types of water rides and fun things to enjoy. There are green spaces, beaches, pizzerias, a restaurant, a buffet restaurant, coffee, bars, solarium, shady spots, a children's paddling area with water games, and a relaxing jacuzzi on top of all the exciting rides.

HANNIBAL PARK. It's an amusement park that has a famous roller coaster and has many souvenir shops. Fairground rides set in a fairy tale landscaped park including a merry go-round, trampolines, walk ways, bouncy castle and swings.

HERGLA KARTING PARK. It is another amusement park and offers lots of fun. There is one ride on there that is extremely fun, but not for the faint of heart! I've been on it - it takes you high in the air, and turns you every which way, and even stops and let you dangle for a bit. It also has a mini zoo down by the race tracks.

OASIS PARC BOTANIQUE. A botanic park with over 25,00 aromatic and medicinal plants and birds including ostriches, parrots and various rare chickens, and a bird style circus with clowns and magicians.

FRIGUIA SAFARI PARK. The Park runs a breeding program for threatened species and you can take a drive to see the lions, giraffes and elephants and various other African wildlife that now live there.

GREAT MOSQUE. It is a surprisingly tranquil place despite its location in the middle of the city. Built around 850 AD, the mosque is simple and done in the Aghlabite style; no decoration whatsoever aside from a string of angular Arabic and curved arches. Even the prayer room is covered in reed mats instead of the usual carpet. You must be properly dressed to enter, but green wraps can be rented for a token fee to cover up.

MOSAIC MUSEUM. Located in the gently crumbling old kasbah on the edge of the medina. It has what is clearly Tunisia's second most important collection of mosaics; second only to the Bardo museum in Tunis. The exhibits are dominated by mosaics, but there are many other objects too, like vases, masks, statues and whole burial tombs. The epoch covered here is mainly Roman Tunisia, which are the centuries around year 0. To this period also belong objects from Christian catacombs in the Sousse region. Just look out for objects and mosaics with the 'XP' symbol. Another great attraction are found with the mosaics showing scenes from amphitheaters.

THE TRADITIONAL TUNISIAN HOUSE. This charming little museum is located within the old city walls some 200 yards north of the main bus terminal is the home of a long standing Tunisian family that has now become a museum with the passing of the last family member. The property centers on a open courtyard from which access to all the rooms can be gained, including bedrooms for the first and second wife and, in turn, to the children's rooms. All are delightfully fully furnished, with some curtains dating back 200 years, and with German clocks imported from the 1800's. The house is complete with a tower, originally used to watch the stars for the onset of Ramadan, from which views over Sousse can be gained.

CATACOMBS. Many believe that catacombs were built as hiding areas for Christians during time of persecution under the Romans. And even more are unaware of Tunisia's past as a Christian country. The catacombs were not shelters for the living, but rather for the dead. The tunnels originally stretched for more than 5 km, and contains 15,000 graves. The area open to visitors, has only about 100 metres of tunnels, but you can see through iron gates into continuing tunnels.

Sousse also has great nightlife with many restaurants, discos (both in and out of hotels - there's a pretty good outdoor disco called Bora Bora), cafés, casino, and plenty of shopping! Two of the biggest shopping center are Tej Marhaba and Slim Center, and they are very close together. There is also plenty of shopping along the corniche in central Sousse. The coast has good beaches and a clear turquoise sea - perfect for swimming. You can also take carriage rides throughout the city which is always a fun way to sight-see!

In Tunis:

THE BARDO MUSEUM. 4 km/2.5mi west of Tunis is the suburb of Le Bardo, famed for the Bardo National Museum, which has the world's largest collection of Roman mosaics and other antiquities of interest from Ancient Greece, Carthage and from the Arab period, and it ranks with the Egyptian Museum in Cairo as one of the two great museums of North Africa.

CARTHAGE. It is the famed capitol of the ancient world and is located on the eastern side of Lake Tunis across from the center of modern Tunis. Now there is a museum there where you can view the ruins and ancient artifacts.

SIDI BOU SAID. The town is a tourist attraction because it is known for the extensive use of blue and white colors (the traditional colors of Tunisia) all over the town. All kinds of souvenirs can be bought in the main street. There is the traditional High Coffee there which is worth a look. My favorite is a coffee that overlooks the marina. It has fantastic views and a wonderful ambiance.

THE MEDINA. Just going there you can feel the history come to life. The streets are buzzing with shoppers and sellers. The medina itself contains around 700 monuments, including palaces, mosques, mausoleums, madrasas and fountains dating from the Almohads and the Hafsids periods.

DAR BEN ABDALLAH. A small but interesting museum within an 18th-century palace in the medina, covering the everyday life of a rich merchant in the Ottoman era.

ZITOUNA MOSQUE. The largest mosque in Tunisia. This Aghlabite mosque dates back to the 9th century. Modest dress is essential, and non-Muslims can only enter the courtyard, not the mosque itself.

PORT DE FRANCE. It is comprised of architecture and decoration from many different styles and periods and is believed to stand on the remains of a Roman theater as well as the tenth century palace of Ziadib-Allah II al Aghlab.

CATHEDRAL OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL. It is located in downtown Tunis. It is a grand church situated in between shops and coffees.

DOWNTOWN TUNIS ITSELF. Here you can see the French influence on Tunisia as many of these old buildings are built in French style. It also is home to a beautiful giant clock tower that is illuminated at night.

LA MARSA. It is a coast

I have a 60 foot long slip and slide I made myself with a 5 foot slide that I attach a slow running hose to the top. The mat is a thick rubber used for ponds. It was 15' x 30', but I cut it in half to make a 7.5' x 60' long slide. I placed runners under the sides with those foam noodles used for swimming to keep them going in a straight line. For the transition from the bottom of the slide to the mat I placed a boogie board to soften the bump when they land. Talk about all day fun!

I also bought a 10' x 10' bouncy house from Wallmart. It cost about $250. I want to buy one of those mini water parks that blow up and hold water. Comes with a slide, waterfall, climbing wall. There are different sizes to fit your budget.

Answer
I'm trying to do the same! Lol. Here are some tips I picked up that could help you:
-Cut out all fast food and junk food from your diet
-5 small meals are better than 3 big ones
-Exercise is better than starving yourself!
-Go brisk walking for 30 mins. (burns about 214 calories)
-Dance actively for 30 mins. (burns about 153 calories)
-If you have a stationary bike, using it for 30 mins. at a moderate pace burns 300 calories
-Burning 3500 calories will make you lose a pound
-But remember not to go under 1200 calories per day. It's unhealthy.
-Drink a lot of water. 8 glasses or more per day will do you good.
Here's a link to some exercises that will help you get a flat tummy:)

Lakes in Canada? Finding a lake house?

Melissa

Last year my friend went to Canada and rented a lake house. She said something about Monroe? Maybe the name of the lake? She also stopped in a Ben and Jerry's near by the lake and bought a shirt there. There might also have been a water trampoline there. I know its a stretch, but does anyone know of some place similar? They rented the lake house for a week or maybe longer? Any help is greatly appreciated!! Please all serious answers, and no I can't ask her.
She drove through Vermont so somewhere near there...Quebec and Montreal. Also she said something about eating sugar pie? Idk if that can help at all or if it is popular.

Answer
I've never been but based on your clues and a quick Google search, it sounds like she may have been talking about Lac Monroe which is located in Parc National du Mont Tremblant. It's located in the province of Quebec (north of Vermont) and the only Ben and Jerry's within Quebec are in Montreal. Sugar Pie is also a Quebecois specialty (the closest comparison I can give you is it is like pecan pie without the pecans). This park is the largest national park in Quebec and Mont Tremblant is a popular skiing area in winter.

Hopefully these links can get you started.
