I'm just interested, because i know i can do a front flip on a trampoline, and personally i thing a back flip looks a lot cooler. I can do back flips off a diving board, but i'm too scared to do it on a trampoline, so i was just wondering if anyone could tell me which is easiest?

Answer
back flips are easiest physically, front flips are easiest mentally.

every year when it gets warm enough to jump on the trampoline, i go to a train bridge nearby and make sure i can still do backflips before i try them. i get too scared to do em on a trampoline first (the train bridge is about as high as a four story building so you'd think id be more afraid of that, but there is water at the bottom so thats a negative)

How can I learn to do a back-flip without a trampoline?

I would to learn how to do a back-flip (and hopefully learn more, so I can do parkour) but my mom who is a nurse says they are too dangerous for me. I see where she is coming from since she is a nurse how probably sees accidents for kids paralyzing themselves everyday. I think I can handle it I am a 15 since to be 16 year old girl! Since a trampoline is out of the question how can I learn?

Answer
Ah!! Ok so that one guy above me has the motions correct. Jump up, grab your legs leaning backwards (tucking), and then land... BUT knowing that is nothing. What you need to do is get help. And NOT from a friend. I tried that and he dropped me on my damn neck. Luckily we were in a gym so I landed on a thick pad. Regardless, it hurt for a week.

Every city I've lived in has a gymnastic institute. They all have open gym days too. Pay 5-15$ average and you get a whole day in a giant gym with foam pits and stuff. I suggest you learn there. Also you will be able to ask gymnists for help too. They will know how to properly spot you as well.

Otherwise just go to a pool and try doing it over and over into the water.

Good luck man.
