How to lose weight, what foods to eat?

I am 5'4 and weigh 140. I used to be in cheerleading but stopped two years ago. I was fit and weighed 127. I feel like its so hard to lose this weight!!! What exercise should I do and for how long?!?! And what kind of meals should I eat for breakfast lunch and dinner? Thanks guys!!
