Answer
Yes ... and "Hello" = I am Grandma and you made it to my gingerbread house.
Do you like butterflies? ... look in my backyard and you will see blue butterflies.
Do you like flowers? = Grandma has yellow roses in a vase on her bench that her lovely living angel who is 28 and her daughter just gave her yesterday ... yesterday was Grandma's sad day.
My five year old grandson came to the cemetery with me one day when I dropped in to my baby angels headstone to water the flowers on her grave ... and he said to his grandmother ...
"That is your family, isn't it nanny?"
He is too young to know the dead person buried in that grave is his Aunt!
He still has more respect than an educated adult religious human being who thinks they know it all?
He loves grandma and he loves her unconditionally because he has not yet found out about the true hateful nature of human beings.
And as each step unfolds and they tell him his grandma is worthless and stupid and crazy and they tell him to laugh at death and joke about sex and hurt other people in life ... I will be there and I will be here and I will be telling him as I hug him closely "angels whisper in your ear"
And ... "do not fear"
My house is a sacred temple and a place where he can run around and be a kid!
Do you like a good playground?
= I have a playground in my backyard and we have a trampoline and a swing and a fort with a slide and a pirates wheel and we have a sandpit and a garden full of herbs and vege's and my grandson loves to pick the parsley and eat it as he waters the garden.

Is this good Exercize for a 12 year old...?

I am 12 years old and weight 125 pounds. I want to loose about 25 pounds In two months. Near thanksgiving I got sick. I couldn't swallow anything and had to drink hot Chocolate all day and in a week of barely eating I lost 10 pounds so I know I can do it. But Is this a good plan:
Once a week walk 3 miles at a park
Cut back on sprite and stuff
and
Everyday spend 2 hours on a Gazelle

Will that help. Am I over weight, and Could I loose it before school starts again??? I would appreciate it so much. Thankz.
Its acually funny...We are like really broke so we can't even afford mcdonalds...so I end up eating pretty healthy anyway. I just wanna lose weight so when i swim I can not wear a shirt...granit the water is pretty cold...but anyway...
OH!!! and I am 5'0 feet
tall...

Answer
The most important thing to remember when losing weight at age 12 (vs. as an adult) is that since your body is growing you need to still get all of the NUTRIENTS that you need to grow, while cutting your calories enough to burn more through exercise than what you take in each day.

For an adult, fasting (going without eating) occasionally for a few days can be healthful by detoxifying the body and colon and people lose a little weight too. However, fasting is NOT a long-term weight loss solution for an adult, and fasting is NEVER a good idea for someone who is not fully grown (I'd say before the age of about 22-25, because even after you stop growing in height, your internal organs and muscles continue to develop into your early 20s). All you need to do is take a look at pictures of the young people in places like North Korea and Sudan to see what the effects of not eating are on a growing body (bow-legs, short-stature, decreased IQ, death).

What you must do is cut out all of your unnecessary foods and beverages, these are foods that are high in calories but which have very few nutrients as well as foods with a lot of artificial ingredients. Examples of these:
Soda Pop (both the regular and diet kind)
Fast Food of all kinds
Junk Food of all kinds
Candy
Cake
Cookies
Chips
French Fries
Ice Cream
Fried Chicken
Pizza
Juice
etc etc

At the same time, eat as much of the following as you can (stuff yourself if you want):
Fresh Raw Fruit of any kind
Fresh Raw Vegetables of any kind (very little salad dressing)
Lightly Steamed Vegetables
Pure Water

Eat a good sized portion of lean Protein 4-6 times per day:
Low fat yogurt
Low fat cottage cheese
Lean Grilled Chicken (no added fats)
Fish (canned tuna, fresh fish, NOT deep fried)
Tofu
Temphe
Beans
High Protein Meal Replacement bar (powerbar etc)

Get Moderate amounts of other natural foods such as:
WHOLE GRAINS (brown rice, 100% whole wheat bread, oatmeal)
Nuts
Peanut Butter (the natural kind -- NO HYDROGENATED OILS)
Olive Oil
Seeds (sunflower, sesame, etc)
Cheese

By following this type of eating, your body will continue to get everything it needs to grow, while keeping your calories in the right range to lose weight with proper exercise. If you continue to eat this way through your whole life, you will stay in your healthy weight naturally. It is a lifestyle, NOT a diet.

As far as exercise:
Consistancy (doing a 2 mile walk every day) is more important than quantity (running a marathon one time)....

in other words, try to be active every day, but do things like walking the dog, jumping on the trampoline, playing basketball, hiking, going for a swim, jumping rope, dance, play volleyball, martial arts, push-mow the lawn, baseball, soccer -- and stay off of the computer, TV, and video games...

Don't just get on an exercise machine for 2 hours a day (no one can stick with that for life)... BE ACTIVE in your lifestyle, get used to MOVING to have fun instead of just thinking activities... if you make habits of doing MOVING activities that you enjoy, you will be getting exercise and working all of your muscles by doing a variety of things. You will be more motivated to keep it up when you have variety too.

Good Luck, I hope this helps!

Remember that it is a LIFESTYLE, not a diet...
