So, I have a mouse and whenever it gets bored it chews threw the duck tape holding his water bottle up and gets it all dirty. Is there any toy that may keep him occupied for long periods of time. Please help also tell me where you can get the toy or how to make it, and what it does. Thanks

Answer
The mouse needs interactive toys (things that move if he pushes them etc). Ideally another mouse but if not then build him a swing or climbing frame inside his cage. Give him a trampoline made out of a ripped up t-shirt tied to the sides so he has a soft landing in case he falls. Make him a tightrope across his cage with a bit of thick string, tie bits of cheese and apple on to it at intervals. Get a little ball and make it smell of a different thing every day - for example 1 day make it smell of your old socks, the next day make it smell of butter, the next day make it smell of dog hair, the next of apricot jam, the next day of soil, the next day of sheepskin etc etc - he will love that and wonder what the new smell is.
Every day put new types of food in his cage - food he hasn't seen before, with exotic smells, new fruits, new types of grains etc. or old things you don't mind getting ruined, like old shoes he can make his nest in. Teach your mouse to respond to different noises. Like if he hears a certain word then he has to run-up to the top of the cage and wait for a bit of strawberry. Or if he hears something else then it means run to the other side of the cage and wait by the door. etc etc Teaching takes a lot of patience and kindness and time which most kids don't have, but you can try!

How to do a front flip tuck off of a 1 meter diving board without an approach?

Joseph Zim

I could do a front flip last year during the Diving season but I had an approach and got to circle my arms. Now I am just standing there and don't get to circle my arms but just jump and throw my flip but I can't seem to do it. I get really freaked out by the board when I am just standing there trying to jump(feeling the board angle itself as I bend my legs) And I also can't seem to be straight up I always seem to lean forward a lot and it doesn't help. Then I can't seen to rotate,i can do it on the trampoline just fine but not here. I either land on my head or do a cannonball into the water. One time i rotated a lot but I only landed on my back and still didn't jump high and i leaned forward. I want an approach to make myself jump better but my coach wants me to do it just standing there and start with arms straight up without a circle and I can't do it!

Answer
Well, I think you're scared of hitting the board, so you jump out instead of up which is what you want. Try moving the fulcrum up about two or three numbers so it's less bouncy. Stand at the end of the board with your arms up and bend your knees a little so the board can bounce a bit. Then throw your arms down in front of you (and try not to bend them that much because you'll spin more easily and you'll have more time in the air). Don't aim down, try to throw upward. From this, you wrap your arms over your legs in the tuck position. Don't go straight into a tuck from the board because you wont rotate. When you throw your arms, you start spinning more easily. It may feel weird at first, but you will have more height and a better rotation. Also, the tighter you tuck, the more you spin.

Your coach IS doing this for a reason. But when you can get it like this, you'll be able to make it more easily with the hurdle.
