water trampolines for lakes image

WYETT M
I'm going to be traveling there in a week or so.. how hot is the weather there and are there any lakes, rivers, places to go swimming besides the hotel pool?
Answer
Today's high is 97 with a heat index of 103 and a low of 77. Humidity ranges between 65% and 84%. It's safe to assume it would remain pretty steady in those temps for the next 2-3 weeks. Rain is hit and miss... it's hurricane season and tropical storms pop up quickly.
Man made water fun: Splashtown water park (20 mins N of down town Houston) or Shlitterbauhn (45 mins or so S of downtown).
Natural water fun (fishing, swimming, camping, boat or jetski rental): Lake Houston (20 mins NE of down town), Lake Conroe (1 hr N of d.t.), Clear Lake (Galveston Bay 45 mins S of d.t.) or Keimah is in the same area. San Jacinto River (20 mins E/NE of d.t.) has several parks off of it that you can swim at such as Loves Marina on Hwy 90 E (camp grounds, pic nick tables with day or overnight options) or Kingwood Park off of WoodlandHills Dr (day access and boat ramps) or probably the most popular, Banana Bend in Highlands, TX (20 mins E of d.t.) to name a couple. In Crosby (20 mins E of d.t. Hou) is Cecil's Water Park, they have man made lakes with water slides, water trampolines, beach volley ball and other fun activities and often have night time events with bands during the summer. I've added the link to their myspace (their myspace background is deceiving since it's also water realted BUT they do have pics on their page).

What are those bouncy things you put in the middle of lake that are like trampolines?

You put it in water and it is like a trampoline and you jump on it and off of it.
Answer
They're trampolines, built on a round pylon so it floats. Pretty cool. Something that's a lot more fun, though, looks like a giant balloon in the water, and one person sits on one end, and another person jumps off of a dock or the shore on the other end, vaulting the first person out into the water. WAY cool!!!
